Recap: Warriors 140, Kings 132 - Giving Them The Business.

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about.

Tonight the Warriors came out and looked like the team that we all know that they can be. They faced a situation where they knew what needed to be done against a team that they knew they could do it to, and what did they do?

They gave them the business.

Okay okay. I'll admit that an 8 point win and giving up 132 points doesn't exactly qualify as "giving the Kings the business". Actually I'm not really sure what does qualify as "giving the business". Before that YouTube clip, I'd never heard that expression before!

What the Warriors did manage to do tonight was to jump out to an early lead and hold onto it for (count `em!) FOUR quarters. We can sit around all night and talk about the deficiencies in our defense that led to the Kings' 132 points, but in the end, we picked their pockets more times and certainly swatted more shots. Holy crap Pietrus.

Now I'm not saying we played good D out there tonight. I'm just saying it was better than theirs.

JUMP!!

Star-divide

Things got off to a quick start for us tonight thanks to TMNT himself. Those first few minutes of the game were the Al show and Warriors fans were treated to an entirely different side of his game. The best part about it was it wasn't a couple of lucky jacks. Al used this momentum to fuel his turtle power into an impressive 5 jacks, 7 boards, 3 dimes, and 17 points on the night!

What could possible be better than TMNT having a good night? How about the rest of the Warriors doing the same?! Since there were so many contributors out on the floor tonight for the Dubs, I think it might just be fitting to drop a roll call. Feel free to sing along!

He was a Quiet Storm! (ooooooooooh!)

Shabooyah.... Sha Sha Sha- Shabooyah Roll Call

Wow. Kind of hard to get the recap-writing rhythm recap back after such a ripping good roll call (if I do say so myself). Fine, it sucked. Whatever. The point is that all of the Warriors came out to play tonight. And we saw that it was good.

Unfortunately for us, so did the Nuggets. As predicted, Denver mopped the floor with the Clippers leaving us still tied record-wise for the 8th spot in the west and sitting in 9th after all tiebreaker applications. The Warriors will have a lot to think about as they prepare to face the beast on Thursday night in what is...

With absolutely no debate at all...

Seriously this time...

THE BIGGEST GAME OF THE YEAR.

So until then, major props to Kevin Martin, John Salmons and Francisco Garcia for great games and even further props to Sac for beating Denver and losing to us. Seriously though. We gotta get the city of Sac a fruit basket or something. Maybe some nice cheeses and jams? We'll get our secretary on that.

See you next year Kings! Our destiny awaits.

wonder

The rim is still shaking from this one.

ok
real question now.. how do we stop KMart version 2.
O wait.. unless KMart's mom is in the stands again I think we'll be ok. Can we invite Biedrins' parents and Baron's grandma to the game?

Leave it to Beaver
Didn't Wally and Eddie Haskell used to give the Beave "the business?

by Bluejohn on Apr 9, 2008 1:24 AM PDT   0 recs

Giving him the business
That called was used last year too during a college game. I think it just means excessive/unnecessary actions to a player (usually quarterback) that can't be described through the microphone (like a punch in the groin)

Denver Game Thursday
Sorry, didn't wanna create a new diary, so i'm kinda hijacking this thread.

TNT's got the dubs playing at 5PM on Thursday. Everyone's gonna still be trying to get off work early by then. All so TNT can show the Lakers playing the Clippers, WTH! If you guys have tickets, call in sick, leave early to pick up ur kids that you don't have from the school they are not attending. Or leave early to get ready for fake anniversary with your fake significant other. Whatever it is, be there to rock the Roracle. This is no time for quiet fans or fans that chant defense only when the PA tell em to.

GO DUBS!!!!
WE KNOW! PLAYOFFS!!!

P.S. Thanks Kings, and Kevin Durant for ROY purely based on that one game.

Tonight is the Night
I wasn't into the game last night. But I saw a lot of good plays. It was only an 8 point win but looks like the Dubs were holding back to give their all for tonight. Good move in keeping Monta rested and getting Mikael a little warmed up for tonight's battle. I hope Andris gives the same output tonight. Maybe I wasn't into the game as much cuz I kept flipping between the Warriors and the Giants game and also the Strikeforce replay which was an awesome fight. CUNG LE! CUNG LE! CUNG LE!

Baron suprised me!
That dunk suprised the hell out of me. I thought Baron wouldn't have the legs to be doing that at this point of the season, especially the way he's been playing the last few games prior to last night's. The only thing that was missing on that dunk was Kirilenko. And on that 360 catch & spin, I thought he was gonna lay it up while he was still in the air. If he would've did that, it could've been the play of the year!

we
need everybody to play well for thursday's game. I mean everybody! I thought their early defense got their offense rolling in yesterday's game. WHEN WE PLAY DENVER TOM, WE CANNOT LET THEM SCORE EASY BASKETS AND BLOW DEFENSIVE ASSIGNMENTS. EVERY SHOT NEEDS TO BE CONTESTED!

i can feel the 'WE BELIEVE' movement developing..... lets do this!

brb, going to ORACLE

it was great game
it's great to see Pietrus back -i guess if he could play some game in roadtrip warriors could steal some win (but it wouldn't change anything because then Den would win sonics lol)

it's great to see that Biedrins is back from afterappendix hole -actually after this game he became a 10th alltime best W's shotblocker (295b)

it's great when big 3 is playing like they should -because that's not just giving result but even encouraging the bench (more motivation)

it's great to see Barnes with Hawk

it's great to see CJ is still best backup PG what W's had last seasons

it's great to see BWright keep doing what he must do -produce in his minutes and know his weakness and strength (he will be next season MIP)

it's great to see Azubuike having good game after 1/8 in previous

so

i expect great next game

it's not even biggest game of season -it's all season in 1 game

i believe
i have no doubt

FTW!

I MAY BE HOMER BUT I MAY NOT BE DOUBTER
