From Janny Hu in Denver.
Didn't have room for this in the paper, but it's worth mentioning.
Stephen Jackson was 1-for-13 tonight.
He was 2-for-14 the previous night.
He was 7-for-23 the previous game.
The game before that? Out with a sprained left hand.
Now, it's not like Jack is a good career shooter. He isn't, not at 41.8 percent. But he's way below that this year (.377), and at least some of it is due to the injured hand he's playing with.
So I asked him about it after the game tonight:
"You know I don't make excuses," he said. "I'm just missing shots. My hand has nothing to do with it. I play hurt so much I can't blame it on my hand. I got to get in the gym and get some more work on my shots and knock them down."
That's about when Jamal Crawford, from an adjacent locker, cut in:
# "His hand is affecting him," Crawford said. "He ain't going to tell you that. But I see him everyday."
