Golden State of Mind and Save Our Sonics, You Disgust Me.

Thanks, guys. Thanks a lot. We come out to support the NBA, we sell out over half our home games for an under .500 team only to see it move away, and we barely get the worst team in the NBA....and now you're going to boycott us? For what?

You guys are a bunch of jerks. Now, I'm not taking anything away from Seattle fans, but you guys lost the team, fair and square. The deal is done, you can't commit to building a new Arena. Clay Bennett gave you a fair amount of time to set the plan in motion, and your government did nothing to get a new arena built. Charlotte didn't get a new Arena built, but a couple of years later they got a new franchise. Who's to say that you can't have your SuperSonics back, kind of like the Cleveland Browns ceased to exist for a couple of years and the Baltimore Ravens became a new team?

How about I start a boycott of Golden State of Mind because you took webpins away? How would that make YOU feel?

Look, I know I'm largely outspoken on this issue, and I know I'm going to get a LOT of hate. But you guys are directing all of the hate at Oklahoma City, when you should be directing the hate at your local government for not stepping up to the plate. We want the NBA, and apparently Seattle doesn't.

I feel pity for the Save Our Sonics movement, but how about a "We Got Screwed" movement? How do you think it feels to have a team on the verge of greatness ripped away from you to a city that largely doesn't care? The team was either a ghost of Charlotte or a complete mess while in New Orleans, and fans simply weren't coming to games. Hell, fans didn't come to games until the Hornets were at the TOP of the West, and every time I tune in I STILL see empty seats! If there Was no Hurricane Katrina, I guarantee you that the Hornets would've moved out. Yes, it was a big tragedy, but that team had no roots and shouldn't of been there anyway.

Atma, I respect you as a person, and think you have a lot of great ideals. But boycotting the Oklahoma City ______ (they won't be the Sonics, Seattle is keeping the name) is NOT the right way to go about things. How about the people of Seattle make their city think twice about treating teams like nothing until it actually looks like they're moving away? How about you guys make the owner think twice about selling his team to an OKLAHOMA CITY BUSINESSMAN? How about you just accept that we got the team fair and square and that you guys lost your chance? Please, this is getting way out of hand.

Poerty

Adonal Foyle, who has written over 300 poems, misspells Poetry as "Poerty" in his personal library. He even shows it on Television!

The Zorgon-Fab Daily Warriors Blog: Foyletastic!!!!

The Warriors pulled out another one in Orlando.

Before we get to the game, we have to talk about our all-time favourite baller: Adonal Foyle.

It was looking bleak for Adonal as the Warriors were basically in cruise control on their 10-or-so point lead on the Magic. Stan Van Gundy Needed Dwight Howard for a comeback. But, all of a sudden, out of nowhere, comes in....

THE MAN.

THE MYTH.

THE LEGEND. ADONAL FOYLE.

As he graced the court with his bodacious presence, the air changed. The air was no longer normal air. It was now Foyle air. Everyone in the Arena knew it well, and savoured the moment.

As the game drew on, Adonals time grew short. The clock was ticking from 11 minutes to 10 minutes, and Stan Van Gundys eyes grew increasingly shifty as everyone gave him the evil eye as long as possible to keep him from approaching Dwight Howard.

For a while, it was a game of keep away, but as he got a pass and planned to back down Al Harrington, he knew it was time. He grabbed the ball, turned around....and the ball was immediately knocked away. A huge "Foyle Sigh" was heard. Same as always, right?

Then Adonal rushed toward the other end of the court as he usually does, stumbling all of the way. As Baron Davis bricked the layup, Adonal wrestled the ball away and threw it down the court, giving the way for a Keyon Dooling jumper.

As this happened, Van Gundy had hand enough, and no matter how much imaginary oil I tried to put between him and Dwight Howard, Dwight Howard was ready to come in. Adonal knew he had to go out with a bang. As Al Harrington drove and Adonals lack of atchleticism giving him no chance to block it, Adonal took the fall. It was called a charge, the crowd was energized, Adonal had a positive +- ratio, and the deed was done. As Dwight Howard entered the game, he knew that he would never be where he was now without Adonal Foyle had Adonal Foyle been his father, which he wasn't. So, there you go.

Before I get back to the game, here is the problem with the Magic:
Whenever Foyle is in the game, he usually needs a complimentary big man to help him out, but he's usually all alone down there, and can't take up as much space as Dwight can and dominate. So, it kind of almost eliminates his shotblocking and rebounding skills, leaving only his sheer hustle. Even the best shotblocker can't be in 3 places at once. Since Nelson, Turk, and Lewis are subpar defenders, you're asking your Center to be everywhere. It just doesn't work.

Now, to the game. As usual, the Warriors came out of the game lackluster, and had a horrible shooting night overall. In a nutshell, the Warriors had guns a blazin' as they entered the 3rd, and Stephen Jackson and Baron Davis almost double-handedly lead the Warriors to the victory. Once the Warriors had their 10 point lead, they kind of sat in cruise control and rolled to victory.

Azubuike had another disastrous night, with 2 of 5 shooting over 20 minutes and 4 points. Where has this guy gone? He almost seems to take up space rather than contribute anything, and his -4 +/- ratio shows it.

An even worse job was done by Austin Croshere, who missed 4 shots in 7 minutes, with 2 points off of Free Throws. This guy is REALLY hit and miss. Some games he comes off on fire, and some games he can't hit crap.

On the whole (someone stop me if I'm wrong this time) we totally relied on the big 3 to get us through this game. They played tremendously, but in very heavy minutes. The only guy who even came close was Big Al, but he put his work in on 4-13 shooting. One rolled ankle, and this is all over. these X-Factors better step it up down the stretch when our hellish schedule comes about.

Game MVP:
Adonal Foyle

CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGE!!!!

Dude, I'll trade you this basketball for your Warriors jersey. Seriously.

The Zorgon-Fab Daily Warriors Blog: Heatstruction

HEATSTRUCTION!!!!

Yeah, the Heat were horrible today. Poo-Horrible. So horrible that they should, in fact, live in a house of horribleness.

Aaaand....it goes out of bounds.

The Heat have become SO bad that their annoncers have become so sick of them that they decided to talk about the Warriors.

"It's Celebration time in Oakland!"

Today, the Heat had 7 active players (8, but Dwayne Wade just sat on the bench in case of emergency).

The entire Heat team had a atrocious plus minus ratio, while Ricky Davis plays 47...yes, 47 minutes. And get this. He had 12 rebounds to go with 10 points. This man is a sharpshooter, what the heck is he doing with a P.J. Brown-like statline? In truth, Pat Riley only had two big men (Haslem and Blount). Blount only got 17 minutes of action, so he tried-and failed-to small ball with us all game.

Stats NOT to read into, Warriors Garbage Time Stats:
C.J. Watson: 4 Steals
The Heat were basically throwing it into his hands by the end of the game, while he simply ran up the court and got fouled.

Matt Barnes: 11:29, 4-7 FG, 4 Rebounds
The dude played pure garbage time. I don't want to offend anybody here, but he didn't really do much in the real game. Not that it was his fault or anything, he just didn't get enough PT in non-garbage time.

Austin Croshere:
8:21, 3-5 FG, 7 Points, 4 Rebounds
He got a lot of tap-ins against the Heat, who had basically all but given up. With Wright on the Rise and Webber being Don Nelsons Coaches Pet, Croshere may be the new odd-man-out in the Big man rotation. It's a shame, but its always better to have mroe depth rather than no depth.

Stat TO read into:
Kelenna Azubuike:
20:31, 4-9 FG, 1-4 3PT, 12 Points, 3 Rebounds
Last years D-League pickup (currently the only player in the NBA from my home state, Oklahoma) is really regressing. Last year I saw a lot mroe risky shots, drives, and Jammin' dunks. This year I see a lot of blocked layups and bricked 3s. Now, I'm not going to take an Atma stance and say the man has regressed to his ttrue 8-12th man role, but I WILL  say that the man has to step it up. If he doesn't do so AT LEAST by next year, this one-hit-wonder could find himself Hoisting 3s with Bellinelli in Italy. But, I'm confident that he'll find his stride soon.

Why this game has me worried:
In the first quarter, it was ALL Ellis, Jackson, and Davis. Pretty much every game we have to have a fourth "X-Factor" guy to step it up on an offensive level. Now, I understand Biedrins was still recovering from Appendicitis, but if we don't get that fourth role from either him, Barnes, Azubuike, Pietrus, Wright, Harrington, or Croshere, then we usually flop against a bad team. Lately, we've seen guys like Pietrus and Croshere step it up, and it really brings this team to another level. I mean, give the big 3 credit, they do a LOT, but unless they get help, they're hardly any better than the Heat we saw today. And today, they got no help and closed out the Heat all their own.

Milk Carton:
Marco Bellinelli
This dude is on the Injured Reserve BELOW Patrick O'Bryant. If this dude won't devlop his skills in the D-LEague, he has no chance on this team. I just can't see a situation where he can come in and play minutes unless a Semi truck runs over a car with Jackson, Davis, and Ellis in it. Until I'm proven wrong, I'll dub him the "Sarunas Jasikevicus of 2007-2008".

Game MVP:
Unlike the Warrior Wonder, I'll be handing out game MVPs which signify the hardest-working player between both teams.
Marcus Banks

Sure, the Warriors put the game in the bag and got to rest while Pat Riley plans his ultimate NCAA Tournament vacation, but Marcus Banks tried ALL NIGHT LONG. 20 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 9-17 FG. He kept driving through the lane, showcasing his skills, and giving the depressed Heat fans a show. While the Heat were mostly wet matches, this guy tried as hard as he could to be a small light in the rain.

Coming up on Sunday: An Article that compares the Warriors to types of Donuts. That's right.

Music Video that is comparable to the Warriors Performace:

For the Excel File, go to: http://www.omegazorgon.com/Zorgons%20Schtuffe/Other%20Images/FinalGSoFStandings.xls

A Few Quick Notes:
*All users in red missed 3 weeks or more, making them ineligble for the tickets.
*All users in blue are GSoM/GSoF staff members, and are ineligible for the tickets.
*All users in bright green are belived to be the three winners of the tickets.
*RDizzle did not make all of his Week 5 Picks, so he is disqualified for that week.
*Zorgon did not make all of his Week 16 Picks, so he is disqualified for that week.
*Anyone who missed the Colts-Saints game in Week 1 was let off because information about the section was not posted before this game.

Now, in case GSoM tries to get around this (which I doubt they will) here is a direct quote from the Week 1 secton of GSoF. (I have also screenshotted it, so no altering posts!)

"The weekly winner will receive a free Baron Davis poster courtesy of our good friends at FSN Bay Area....At the end of all 17 weeks of the NFL regular season, the top 3 high scorers (minimum 15 games) will receive a GSoM T-Shirt Design of their choice + a pair of lowerbowl tickets to a Warriors game."

It is unlear whether it meant weeks of play or just games, but in any case my Excel file was made by weeks of play.

So, if by weeks of play:

Those 3 are YiBoo, Llamalimbo1, and our very own Atma Brother #1!!!! They all winded up at the bottom of the standings, but they came in week after week, and both Atma and YiBoo have both won weeks! (It should also be noted that Atma hit the all time low of -38.5 points.)

And lastly, big thanks to RDizzle for putting up the section and posting the winners every week! You helped make GSoF a success! Thank You!!!!

Poll
How'd you do this season of GSoF?
  • I did great!
  • I did OK, considering I know nothing about football.
  • Absolutely Terrible.

The Real Reason The Warriors Beat the Heat

You guys don't get the real reason why we won. It's because the Heat lost. The Warriors players may have put up a good fight late, but the Heat made a crucial error with about 10 minutes to go.

They took out both Mourning and Shaq. After winning all game and having it their way, they decide to try to small ball with us when there's 10 minutes to go with a team of half-retired men. That's just stupid, the only guy who could really do it was Dorell Wright. Shaq has the best plus minus on the team at +7! Mourning had third best at -3! The only other person who was not in the negatives was Jason Williams, who was injured in the first half, when the Heat were winning!  Shaq was perfect from the field! So why, Pat Riley? Why?

Probobly just to prove some stupid point to Shaq.

So, in any case, it was a good win.

And Miami....I feel sorry for you.

Addendum: Shaq played only 21 minutes last game, and 21 in this one. AND he's complaining about not getting enough minutes. So there goes that point.

Poll
Which Theory is better?
  • We beat the Heat because of our overall clutchness.
  • The Heat lost the game themselves by trying to small ball with us.

Notes on Anti-Clutchness, and the Difference Between Richardson and Azubuike

So, you like Azubuike, eh? The exact same as JRich? The 3s, the athletic dunks, the passion....they're all there! So, what, exactly, is the difference between the two?

JRich would've severely helped us out in the clutch tonight.

Azubuike still hasn't found that ability, and he plays almost as bad as Monta. We can;t rely on only one clutch guy (Baron) if we want to win games.

What most people don't realize is that we've had very few blowouts. We always make it close, and clutch players last year really helped us out of the hole. I mean, if you want me to be honest, I think the old Montgomery team had more clutchness than we do right now. (I know I made a comment in the game thread contrary to this above, but I was meaning that we are a decent 3rd Qtr team, whereas the Montgomery era team was TERRIBLE in the third.)

So, someone needs to step up. And most people think that person will be Stephen Jackson.

Well, I do agree that he's more of a clutch player than we have in our lineup right now, but the man is by no means Jason Richardson or Baron-esque. He can put in what he needs, but he'll never have that "big shot" ability that Baron and JRich have to put it in when it really matters with less than 2 minutes to go in the 4th.

Now don't go telling me that this gradual losing of our lead was stoppable. The Pistons are the most experienced team in the NBA, they've played with each other for a long time, and Sheed was simply in FIYAH. The best you can do is try to slow it down as much as you can.

And don't go telling me about freethrows either. The Warriors WILL miss their freethrows. It's a fact of life. The Warriors hitting their freethrows are about as likely as Jim Barnett not telling you to go for the 2 for 1 or feed the hot hand. Jrich missed his freethrows, too. So, NEVER AGAIN shall anyone say that FreeThrows are a factor. If they go in, it's a miracle. I'll be happy with 5%. Anything else is a bonus. Just count them as lost points, and anything else is a bonus. That's how I look at it.

So, in closing, if Stephen Jackson can't some in and step it up to be the "2nd Clutch Man" to Baron (assuming noone else steps up) I predict we will get 25 wins.

So, how do we solve this problem?

Trade for Adonal Foyle. The dude is getting very inconsistent minutes from Coach Stan Van Gundy. Pat garrity is playing out of his mind, and Adonal has a very little role on the team, especially when Tony Battie comes back.

So, Adonal looks to step into our team and average around 292 points. During a game against Houston last year, in less than a minute, he had 4 points. Assuming he can keep this production up throughout the season, he will help us easily soar past opponents.

Defense? For the 4 minutes he was in against the Cavaliers tonight, Zyundras Ilgauskas didn't score a lick. Assuming he can keep up this production, opposing Centers will average no stats.

Accuracy? In his 10 year career, he has a 100% FG percentage for all of the NBA Playoffs.

Lastly: Athleticism?
Dude's got legs.

So, why not pick up a Hall of Fame center who should be extremely easy to trade for?

There is no confusion, Adonal Foyle is the solution.

Poll
Who do you think will step up to be the "2nd Clutch Man" for the Warriors?
  • Stephen Jackson
  • Kelenna Azubuike
  • Matt Barnes
  • Monta Ellis
  • Al Harrington
  • Marco Ballinelli
  • Brandan Wright
  • Patrick O'Bryant
  • Mickael Pietrus
  • Andris Biedrins

Zorgons Statement on all Foyle Diaries

I am NOT here to clutter the diary section with pointless diaries about how he did every game. If you're favourite player was Kobe Bryant, would you post his statistics on a, say, Wizards site every time he played?

Rather, I am here to make diaries that analyse his play on a broad scale, compare him to other players, cheer him on, and et cetera. Not to mention, analysis of the current Warriors team.

In other words: I make my own analysis, NOT spit out the statline.

So, please no more comments saying "Wow, you beat Zorgon to this." Trust me, I watched Adonal play and would've beaten this guy by a mile if I wanted to.

If you want to see me spit out Adonals statline just for kicks, it will mostly be found at adonalobsessed.blogspot.com . I decided that a lot of the "Small time" Foyle analysis really didn't have much of a place here anymore, and I didn't want to make OZes job harder or make people scroll down to see the relevant diaries.

Does this mean my Foyle analysis here is done?

By no means! I will only post MAJOR happenings with Adonal Foyle here, or MAJOR analyises/videos I have made, and with that I will try to make connections with the Warriors to make the diaries relevant to the site.

Now, this is not saying that I disapprove of other people Posting Adonals statistics, that's not my place, and it's incredibly awesome to hear people are still following the Carribean wave. Just don't say that THE BIGGEST FOYLE FAN EVER is not paying attention. That's just rude.

Furthermore, this disincludes all gamethreads vs. the Magic. That is when you can see me type YAYAYAYAYAAYAYAYAY every time Adonal takes a step.

Bottomline: He's not relevent to the site anymore, so I post less stuff.

Still want to know what I think of his performance? Fine, look below....

Adonal had a good game, for playing in the last minutes of a blowout.

After all the passion Adonal is shown, I'm VERY disappointed that he's been relegated to garbage minutes, especially on a team so thin on bigs. IF you look at the stats, Adonal got just as many rebounds in half the time of Rashard Lewis.

Of course, I could be just bitter, and Adonal is kind of on a "schedule" to play the 1st and 4th Quarters, and the 4th happened to be a blow out. Oh well.

Reguardless, Adonal proved the critics wrong in this game. 6 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks in 17 minutes? THIS is what you should expect AT LEAST from Adonal from now on. He played the same incredible defense that he has done throughout the years, he was inhaling the rebounds (something he used to not do) and EVEN had a bit of an offenseive game. His shooting percentage may have been bad, but it was obvious the ghost of Emperor Nelson was haunting him. I can assure you that none of them looked like Adonalmaos videos though, and he DID show signs of improvement on offense. As in, going to be an All-Star signs of improvement. As in, #1 on the All-time scoring list signs of improvement.

Also: Atma, I have not forgetten about the video I was going to make showcasing Adonals strengths to you. It's gonna happen!!!!

Take into account Adonals pick setting and sheer energy and you have one (almost) complete player.

Now, in the future, look for stuff like this ON adonalobsessed.blogspot.com. I really don't want to sound like I'm promoting my blog (which I am) but I really don't want to waste Atmas time, OptionZeros time, and your voice and diary space.

And, I'm trying to not sound like I'm talking like I'm bigger than the community (which is how I'm talking) but I'm just tired of the comments saying "Wow, Zorgon sure was beat."

So, anyway, glad you guys are showing your Adonal support, and....good night.

Poll
Weekly Adonal Recaps?
  • NO, you hypocrite! We don't want this on GSoM!
  • Yes, I'm still interested in Adonal Foyle and his charming good looks.
