OT: Joe Kennedy Tribute
A great guy, a former pitcher for the A's, and so sad to see him go. There isn't much to say, but I just wanted to pay tribute to Joe Kennedy, because its just sad to see someone die at 28. Joe Kennedy had some great years in Oakland, spending his last year in Toronto.
R.I.P. Joe Kennedy

NBA is Fake?
Just found this article on Yahoo Sports! Detroit Pistons Power Foward Rasheed Wallace says that:
"This game ain't basketball anymore, it's entertainment," Wallace said. "It's starting to get like the WWF. There ain't no real wrestling anymore either. It's all fake."Rasheed usually says a lot of bull, but this time I think he may have a small point. Take the NBA Draft for example. The 2 teams that tanked the season didn't get the first 2 picks, at least one of them should. Could that have been rigged? Should the NBA go to a draft style like the NFL? Also, refs have been betting on multiple games. Whats up with that?
But, the main question is; is the NBA rigged/fake?

Idea: Pops Mensah-Bonsu?
Are any of you guys interested in Pops Mensah-Bonsu? He's a pretty quick player and a pretty good rebounder. I've seen him in a couple games last season when the Mavs played the Warriors and he looks like a solid big guy. He's a little undersized at 6'9, but I think he can jump pretty high which recovers for his lack of height. He would seem to be a good fit as a backup center for the Warriors or just an energy guy like Paul Milsap.
Brandon Bass, a 6-8 forward who played two seasons with New Orleans, is expected to sign a two-year contract today with the Mavericks. The parties agreed to the deal this week. The addition, the Mavs' first of the free-agent signing period, could mean Pops Mensah-Bonsu, a 6-9 forward, won't be back with the Mavs next season.
Pops could probably be cheap to very cheap. I think it wouldn't be a bad try to get him, since he does have the capabilities of becoming a good player in the W's rotation.

Interesting: Davis Threw the First Pitch at the A's game last Friday
Yes, our Baron Davis threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Oakland A's game vs the Baltimore Orioles last Friday July 20th. It's great to see that Baron is still representing the Warriors in the off season and how the A's wanted him there to represent Oakland! (I'm not from the East Bay, but Oakland is my favorite sports town) There's nothing much to say about this, but I thought this would be an interesting thing for people who did not know about this. I wonder if he's an LA fan or an Bay Area fan, since he's from LA?
Also, it seems like Baron shot a jump shot from the mound, instead of throwing the ball like a baseball player. :-)

Mullin: Yes or No? "WE SHOCKED THE WORLD TWICE"
Did you like the overall draft for the Warriors? I did. I think the trade for Brandan Wright was a great deal and he could be possibly a Tyrus Thomas kinda guy, but better.
Everyone here thinks Mullin made a terrible deal, and he traded a supposed All Star! When I heard the deal, I couldn't believe it! I really didn't believe it, but once I read more about Wright I really liked him!
Do you like what Mullin did to get Wright? He shocked the world with the trade, isn't that our trademark, to shock the world? Or do you think it was a bad deal and whats your reasoning except for his heart and soul, blah, blah.....
Stephen A. Smith says we made a great deal and says that the Bobcats should not have made the trade.

Lee, Frye, Q - Jrich, POB, and 18?!
Anbody think this deal is good? If New York would be willing to trade Lee and Frye for Kobe why not J-Rich? I think this deal could really help our team rebounding wise and offensivly in the future. Guards are easy to come by and if we want Monta to develop we gotta let go of J-Rich. I know how everyone thinks hes been loyal to the franchise, etc but really his game has been limited to jump shots now. If you take away the 3 the Warriors would be dead!

Yi Movement!
Just saw a little rumor that several teams such as the Celtics, Hawks, Bulls, and the Kings will be working Yi out to see his skills. Warriors are hopefully going to take a closer look at this guy and fufill the Movement!!
I hope the Celtics trade their 5th pick, because I cant see Yi Jianlian in a Celtics jersey or any other team besides the Rockets and Warriors!
GO YI MOVEMENT!! SPREAD THE WORD!!!

NBA 2K8 OR NBA LIVE 2008?
I've bought the 2k series for 3 years straight. 2k sports seems to make the games just more realistic and interesting. NBA live gets more hype and all, but really its not a better game. Thats my opinion. Whats yours? Do you think Live has the players a little stick figury? Or do you like the All Star weekend features on Live? Lets talk about next years best Basketball game on the market.
I can tell you Im buying NBA 2k8 for 360 when its out!

Warriors=Acie Law?
That would be tight! I love Acie Law the first day I saw him at Texas A & M. A big time shooter, who they predict to be the next Chauncey Billups. He defenilty has the potential to very quickly back up Davis! Monta can back up Richardson and we will have a great set of guards. But I would really like Jermain Oneal here, but they odds of that are small, so Let's bring the Law into the Oracle!
