Warriors Waive Devin Brown and Exercise Options on Ike Diogu and Andris Biedrins

The Warriors first training camp cut this season was Devin Brown, who came to us via the Derek Fisher trade. Brown had a $2.6 million dollar contract expiring at the end of this season, but it's not clear yet how much of his salary will come off the Warriors' salary cap for this season. If you hear anything about the salary cap implications, definitely share the info with the rest of the GSoM community in a diary or in this thread.

I didn't see Brown play much in Utah (no one watches the Jazz intentionally!), but I thought he was a pretty effective scorer off the bench in his last season with the Spurs (unfortunately, we have to watch the Spurs because they're in the playoffs). He'll definitely find a home before the NBA season starts November 1st. We wish Devin Brown the best of luck.

The Warriors also exercised their options on Ike Diogu ($2.29 million next season) and Andris Biendrins ($2.64 million next season). Picking up the option on Ike is a no-brainer, but I'm not sold on extending Biedrins. He hasn't shown much improvement in his 2 seasons here and he doesn't seem like a Nellie-type of player. Still, there's not much to lose with either extension.

Do you think the Warriors made a mistake waiving Devin Brown or extending Ike Diogu and Andris Biedrins?

Thanks to the Golden One, MoUpInTheO, and mistererickk for the lightening quick update on this one. These astute GSoM community members had this one up even before the AP! That's impressive.
