Heading into tomorrow's game, we're just a half game out of the 8th spot and in a 3 way tie for 9th. I still think we should go for that 8th spot and not tank the season. We're just too close to making the playoffs to think about tanking it. But let's take this one game at a time and see where we get. The players need to just worry about playing hard everyday and not scoreboard watch, but we as fans can.
This could be one of the most exciting Warriors season finishes in a long, long time. This is why we're fans, to see our team compete and have a chance to be in the postseason. I'm tired of supporting a losing team and building for the future. This franchise has had a losing culture for so long that some of my favorite memories of the Warriors are of Chris Webber, Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond, and Chris Mullin. You know how long ago that is? So forget tanking, it feels like we've tanked 12 years in a row. I just want some meaningful games down the stretch and a reason to be excited as a fan.
For those who think we should tank it, we're still not going to be high enough to get Oden or Durant, so what is the rationale for tanking it? Even if the Warriors don't make the playoffs, there's still no substitute for playing meaningful games down the stretch. And if the team does make the playoffs? How exciting would that be? The Arena would be rocking and the Dubs might actually get recognized nationally. Wait, the Dubs might actually get recognized locally. Additionally, I'd love to get JRich, Monta, Biedrins, and the rest some valuable playoff experience. Now is the time to really push for that spot. Go Dubs!
Anyways, thanks to mightymadskillz for keeping us up to date on today's games and how it affects the Warriors in his diary: Here we go 8th spot....
Also thanks to ALX8725 for his diary, The FATMAN just gave GSW props on TNT, GSDubz for his diary, Barkley praises Warriors as playoff threat!!, and mightymadskillz's OH MY GOD!!!. All 3 briefed us on Charles Barkley's new stance on the Warriors as the most dangerous of the 4 teams closest to that 8th spot.
I'd like to know. Should the Warriors still go for it or tank the season?
