Recap: Warriors 89, Spurs 126 - Have a bowl of Kix. It helps.

For tonight's game, I decided to write two mini recaps. The first was written during the halftime break, the other one after the game. Shortly after completion of the second recap, I crawled into my bed and cried myself to sleep.

Spurs Warriors Basketball

An example of the mind blowing Warriors defense we saw tonight.

FIRST HALF RECAP

Ugh.

If this is how we are going to handle playoff caliber teams, I hate to say it but maybe we're better off practicing up for another year. That first half was horrendous.

Okay, it's not like we played our worst basketball ever. I mean by no means was it great, but there were a few glimmers of goodness. Yes, we haven't solved our long distance woes. Going 2 for 12 from beyond is wretched. But some of our offensive efforts were pretty inspiring. There were definitely some excellent passes and inside plays that made the Spurs' defense look like... well, ours frankly. This brings me next to my next topic.

Seventy-three points from the Spurs in the first half? 7-3?! What is this, an All Star game?! How about a little defense?! Bowen, Duncan, Parker, Finley, Ginobili... raining all over us. I know that we're supposed to be the underdogs tonight but wow! We don't have to play the part so well.

I don't like the fact that JRich and Big Al have been so quiet tonight. Going against a team of this caliber, we need everyone to be coming out full blast. I don't know what has gotten into them but if these two don't wake up in the second half, it's going to get pretty ugly in the Arena tonight.

Okay the second half is going to start soon. I'm going to get a bowl of Kix.

kix

Instant cure for the bad game blues!

UPDATE:

The third quarter just ended. San Antonio has scored 102 points. We got outscored 29 to 12. Al Harrington has 1 point on 0-5 shooting. Jason Richardson has 0 points on 0-7 shooting. We are currently 3 for 18 from beyond. The Warriors are down 36 points.

The only good thing about that quarter was my bowl of Kix. Well, at least the half of it that I didn't throw at the television.

SECOND HALF RECAP

A picture is worth a thousand words. Or in this case; expletives.

Let's go with Monta. Not because he had an amazing game but because he pretty much played the least crappy out of all of the Warriors. Tonight was a nightmare. And it doesn't get any easier from this point on. I hope Nellie is flipping over a Gatorade cooler in the locker room right now.

Okay, I'm going to wipe the milk off of my TV screen.
