Nellie Nellie Nellie

No coach yet? Still? Sheesh. Just give Nellie the money and be done with it. Apparently contract talks are still stalled, but they will resume talks this week.

I know a lot of you have weighed in on the discussion already, but training camp is less than a month away and there's still no coach. Who's going to tell the media how much weight so and so has to lose? Who's going to predict that the underachieving #3 pick is going to have his best year? Who's going to get us excited about next year's team? He provided so many great quotes last year, it's a shame we have to wait so long for more.

The two sides are scheduled to talk in the next few days with hopes of jump-starting a process that is threatening to fracture the franchise's most successful team in more than a decade.

"I have a lot of respect for (Warriors president) Bobby Rowell. Our talks are not over and I'm hopeful we can get it done," said John O'Connor, Nelson's attorney.

Let's let Chris know the pulse of the people, vote whether or not to keep Nellie at his current demands.

I decided to craft a message to Chris Cohan about the situation... after the jump

"Dear Chris,

We (the fans) haven't been on great terms with you since you took over 13 years ago. You even got booed in your home arena during the All-Star festivities many years ago. In fact, prior to Nellie and co pushing the team into the playoffs, many of us were hoping and praying that you'd sell the team (possibly to Larry Ellison). We called you and Robert clowns and one playoff run doesn't change that a whole lot. I am still hoping you sell the team. You don't want to do anything that might make us remember the times in between the Nellie years. If I only had a little bit more money I'd make an offer.

But this isn't about you, it's about doing what's best for the franchise. And that means signing Nellie for what he wants. Yes, there's a certain point that you have to say no, but I don't think a few extra mil per year is going to bankrupt you. It's not like he's asking you to rub his belly for good luck before, during, and after each game. What Nellie did last year was priceless. Hundreds of thousands of people, both Warrior fans and NBA fans, fell in love with the Warriors during the playoff run last year. And Nellie was at the center of it all. Baron got the hype, Nellie was anointed genius status.

So what I'm trying to say is... let me coach the team. Okay, no, but please sign Nellie. Whatever it takes. Imagine what the team would be like without him. You don't have to think too hard, it was only 2 years ago. If you throw in a different coach, we will miss the playoffs again. Let's not start another 13 year drought. Sign Nellie. I don't care that he's holding out of a contract he signed and agreed to. He brought pure bliss to the Bay just a few months ago, so let's keep that going full steam into next season. Sign Nellie.

Sincerely,
Fantasy Junkie"
