What's this? Marcus Williams got waived today?
Note to kids - you CAN sweat if you play 2 minutes in a game.
BUT HE WAS OUR BACKUP PG!!!
In the words of Darth Vader at the end of Star Wars Episode 3...
NooOOooOOOooOO!!!
Man, that was a short tenure with the Warriors. I really hoped he'd be an integral part of our 3-headed point guard that was slated to make up for Monta's made up time.
Unfortunately, I was pretty spot on with my prediction back then
2008-2009 Prediction
Because Nellie isn't about this guy at all. We gave up a conditional first round pick that only made the final cuts because of the money. What does that say about Marcus? This man was given a huge shot after Monta went down and couldn't beat out an undrafted player and a D-Leaguer. Ugh...what a waste of another draft pick...
I highly doubt we'll see Marcus on the court for a long time. Well, unless we're talking POB minutes.
Tally that on my correct predictions of the year!

The time it took the snap this pic was the longest he held the ball all season.
Let's take a gander at Marcus's stats with the Warriors this season.
- He played in a total of 9 games.
- Averaged 6 minutes a game (That's gotta be inflated by blowouts, but I don't recall 6 blowout games)
- He shot 24% from the field (Rob Kurz is at 36% - in yo face haters!)
- 1.4 assists a game (not bad for someone that only played 6 minutes)
- 1.7 points per game
Icky. Eww.. Gross. I don't really know what other way to explain that one.
At least we didn't have to give up much for him. NO wait, we gave up a conditional first round draft pick. .I was pretty cool with that move seeing as though the Warriors draft pretty poorly in general, so it seemed like a win-win situation. With Monta out, we needed a PG, Marcus wasn't so bad, and he could probably hold down the fort.
But Nellie didn't play him. I have no idea who's fault that is, but I tend to side with Nellie on these kinds of things. I blame Williams.
We knew we weren't going to use the guy, so we could have just waived him earlier in the season right? Well, we could have used him for a package deal as trade bait. Cool. I'm down with that.
But what happens when we do finally get a trade offer involving him?
WE DON'T PULL THE TRIGGER!
The Marcus Williams saga just feels so.....dirty. It's like this guy just came over, stole a first round draft pick, and a bunch of money.
As I was discussing this hot topic with Atma Brother #1, he pointed out to me that Marcus Williams has a history of stealing.
Poor guy.
Sorry to see you go but I barely knew you. If you were the reason we would have had Baron back, I would have rushed to your house with flowers and candy. Instead I only leave you with these departing words
PLEASE DON'T TAKE MY LAPTOP ON YOUR WAY OUT.
