Postgame Quotes from warriors.com recap
On tonight's game:
"The way it looked to start the game off I thought it was going to be one of those long nights and sometimes on a back to back you get real lethargic from a lot a minutes last night. They managed to chip away at the lead. They competed all year long and this was nothing new for them to perform like this down the stretch."
On Monta Ellis:
"He’s a guy that is somewhat on the side of a freak of nature when it comes to a basketball player athletically. A guy can be off for 12 days and we’re on the road and he’s sick, you can see he lost some weight and not touch a basketball. Yet, not in it in the first half, he got himself going on both sides of the ball. I thought he showed some leadership out there based on that he’d been away from the team. I mean you have a complete voice that has been away from the team for a long time."
On coming from behind:
"We kind of went small a little bit. We had guys on the floor that I thought help open the floor. Reggie (Williams) came in and gave us another ball handler that was already playing. We made some changes were we took Stephen (Curry) off the ball and put him on someone else and allow Reggie (Williams) to get up into the basketball. He was allowed to pick up (Russell)Westbrook early on the court and able to drop off and be a helper on the court."
On tonight's game:
"We got off to slow start; it was just the matter of weathering the storm especially when you are going up against a good team like that. They can go on a run, because they are really good that’s what they do, so if you weather the storm you have a good chance to be successful and I think it was the matter of getting the right guys out there and getting the right personnel and I think we did a good job of that in the second half."
On tonight's game:
"It feels great. First home game in a while felt the energy again and got Monta (Ellis) back so it was fun game for us. We got down early, clawed our way back against a playoff team so that’s a big accomplishment for us, and happy to get a win."
On falling behind early:
"We just didn’t have any energy, any fight in us. They were kind of going wherever they wanted to. We were making careless turnovers and giving them easy baskets so we just wanted to run up our intensity. We didn’t know if we could make a push or not but we just wanted to be competitive, but because of that we got ourselves back in the game before halftime. They came out in the 3rd quarter and made a big push and we somehow managed to claw our way back and close out a game which was huge for us."
On the comeback win:
"It’s a real positive going into next season. We just want to go out and compete; they’ve been competing for quite sometime the last seven games that I’ve missed. And everybody is just happy, everybody is just having fun. Tonight, we started off the game kind of slow but we got ourselves back into the game, and it was a fun game and we made plays down the stretch."
On making adjustments:
"It was really defensive rebounds, and we got a lot of great blocked shots and we got running and Steph (Curry) came in and gave us a lift in that second quarter and he got everyone going and just went from there."
- No interesting notes to add tonight.
