Postgame Quotes from warriors.com recap
Don Nelson
On tonight's game:
"I thought we stayed in it somehow. I don’t know how we did but we were close enough that if we could have made a couple more baskets you never know. The effort was good, but the shooting was poor. I felt sorry for Monta (Ellis). He probably lost his legs after that first game from sitting out for a couple of weeks. He got through that one game but then his legs went shot. I wish I could give him some rest tomorrow but we can’t."
On the fans:
"They’re just the best. They’re the greatest. They deserve better. We gave them everything we had and I think they appreciate that. I wish we could’ve had more wins for them. Nobody wishes more than I and that team in there that we couldn’t have given them more wins or a playoff berth but that didn’t happen. That crowd has stayed with us and supported us, what can you say they’re just the best. They’re like my team in there. They just never quit. They just support us and support us. Hopefully next year we can give them something."
Monta Ellis
On tonight's game:
"We still gave ourselves a chance to win; we were in the game until the end. Nothing more I can say, it was just one of those nights. I got every shot I possibly was thinking of getting, it just wasn’t going down tonight. I don’t know what it was, but we've got another one tomorrow. We'll see if we can get a win and finish the season off strong."
On the second half of the season:
"For what we have been doing for the last two months with the shorthanded guys I think it was great. Time will tell when we get all our guys back and see how it goes from there."
