Why Randolph will not get better/Grading Riley?

First off, let me just say how sick I am hearing about all these whiners on this site talking about how stupid this trade is and how they're gonna miss Randolph. My guess is, everyone in favor of this trade is a15yr+ fan of the Warriors and everyone against this trade is 25 year old and under. The generation of NBA Live, where a highlight dunk is more valuable than fundamentals, and winning.

IMO, there are a few reasons Randolph won't develop into that All-Star stud everyone has been hoping he would.

1. He's going from one coach, Nelson, who plays the wrong type of basketball, free and rule free and still, he found a way to not get minutes, to another coach, D'Antoni, who will not teach him the fundamentals and will let him run up and down the court doing whatever he pleases.

2. He's not smart and he doesn't have the fundamentals (for some reason, people love to overlook these two things). If you don't coach this kid, my guess is he's not going to figure it out on his own. Get ready for some of the best highlight reels in the NBA next year with Randolph wearing a Knicks jersey, but another one of your 20 mpg, 10 ppg, 5 rpg lines. While on the other hand, we'll have Lee, 20/10/4.

3. Lastly, he's behind Amare Stoudamire, who is predominantly a PF. Two things Randolph is not, a Small Forward and a Center. No way he gets 40 minutes per game anytime soon.

I feel weird saying this, but, good job Riley this summer.
