Keith Smart
On tonight's game:
"Maybe we can just play a half and go home because we played very, very good basketball against two very, very top elite teams and for whatever reason we didn’t come out in the 2nd half to play at the level necessary to win. You know good teams like that are going to play at a different level. Of course they made some shots and by that time the game was back in their favor."

On whether Magic raised their level of play in 2nd half:
"I just think they made shots. When you’ve got to deal with Dwight Howard who’s going to make plays it’s going to force your team to have to help in ways that you don’t really want to help."

On Hedo Turkoglu’s performance:
"He can play. He’s a very, very skilled guy. He can shoot the basketball. Of course he’s 6"10’ so he can see over people. He’s a willing passer. And then when he’s open, he makes shots. He’s a talented player. This team is at a level where they’re trying to compete for the ring. We’re trying to make ourselves into a position where one day we can be the same way."
Dorell Wright
On tonight's game:
"We can compete with the better teams in the league. We just need to play a full 48-minute game. It doesn’t do us any good to play one half and come out sluggish in the second half."

"They are a veteran team. That is what they do. They know when to turn it up. They made us make a few mistakes in the second half and that is what good teams do."

"When you have a presence like that in the middle, the leading shot blocker, and a guy who can touch the top of the backboard you have to go in there and try and dribble penetrate and get guys open shots. We tried to do that and we did that the last two games. We did a good job with that, but we have to play a whole game."
Monta Ellis
On tonight's game:
"The third quarter is slipping from us. We have to continue to play like a team and see what we can do to turn it around and get back to playing like we used to in the third quarter. One half doesn’t really mean anything. That is why it is 48 minutes. We have to play smarter down the stretch and come out with more energy in the third quarter. We have to grind it out as a team and continue to grow."

On defending the Magic:
"He (Howard) has shooters all around the floor. With him him scoring in the paint you will have to honor that. You also have to honor the shooters, so you don’t know what to do. They made shots tonight and came out on fire in the second half and took the game out in the fourth quarter."
Stephen Curry
On tonight's game:
"They knocked down some huge threes (second half) right out of the gate. We went cold in those first three minutes and couldn’t protect the lead. They played pretty fluid on the offensive end and we had a hard time guarding them. They knocked down a bunch of threes and when they are doing that, they are tough to stop especially with Dwight who you have to pay a lot of attention to."

On losing leads in each of the last two games:
"We had huge leads but weren’t able to get back into our flow in the second half. Both teams (Heat and Magic) have made huge runs in the first three minutes and that is so important in order to keep the momentum on our side. You can’t give them that kind of momentum with so much time left especially on the road and when you are short handed. We will learn from this."

"It is a big body (David Lee) that we needed. We missed him for eight games before with his elbow and got that rhythm going when he got back into the lineup so it is just an adjustment you have to make. On the offensive end, he (Howard) has to guard Dave and what he can do with spreading the floor, and making plays off the dribble and with his back to the basket. We missed things on both ends."

Notes

- An example of DWright's improvement: In the video clips that Keith Smart studied of DWright, he had never seen DWright take jump shots coming around a screen. Now DWright's doing just that.
- Larry Riley has confirmed that Lin and Law will get guaranteed contracts for this season. Carney is still undecided.
- David Lee DNP because of the bruised tailbone.

What's next?

If you add in the next 6 games after that stretch, they will play a total of 18 of their next 22 games at home, which will take them right up to the end of Feb.
