Keith Smart
On tonight's game:
"They’re the Boston Celtics. They just turned it up. I thought we stopped moving the ball, we only had four assists in the 2nd half and we kind of played in one area too long. You can’t play in one area against this team too long, you have to move the ball and be decisive. We did not do that in the 2nd half. We had some open shots, but the Celtics did a good job with wrapping up their pressure. We had a good first half scoring 60 points and they went in at halftime and they knew they had to bring it up a little bit. But I think a lot of that had to do with us too. I don’t think it was totally every thing that they did. I just thought we didn’t move the ball like we needed to. We turned the ball over when we started the 3rd quarter and gave them a run and that just opened the gates for them. "

On the Celtics Defense in the 2nd Half:
"We just stood around. I think maybe the fatigue thing hit us a little bit, I don’t know. We weren’t the same team in the 2nd half. We weren’t attacking the basket, attacking the rim and forcing the issue. We found ourselves kind of floating out well above the three-point line trying to make plays from there. Against this team, against Boston, when you catch the ball and hold it you have to catch it with a decisive move or decisive pass right away. You can’t hold it because the floor will shrink on you…one second… hold the ball…the floor shrinks. Two seconds…hold the ball…the floor shrinks again. Now all the avenues for penetration or cuts to the basket, that’s been taken away. Now your last resort is to stay at the top and you move the ball and hold again and now that’s going to make it conducive for a long jump shot."
Stephen Curry
On tonight's game:
"At the end of the third quarter… their defensive intensity picked up a lot and we didn’t have a rhythm on offense and didn’t move the ball like we wanted to coming into the game. We kind of moved the ball side to side and made them play defense and not just load up to the ball, but we kind of got stagnant. We missed a lot of shots and our momentum was taken away and they made plays."
David Lee
On tonight's game:
"That’s what is good about teams like that and San Antonio, they make adjustments. The pick-and-roll was hurting them in the 1st half and they changed and stayed with me on the roll and made sure we were going to take jumpshots rather than be able to get the ball to the rack like we would in the first half. I don’t think we helped ourselves with some of the turnovers we had. They are a tough team when they are ahead. When they’re behind their slow pace I think that can work against them. But when they are ahead like that, they are similar to a team like San Antonio where they are going to play defense every possession and they are a good executing team offensively. "
Monta Ellis
On the second half:
"We turned the ball over and they converted on the other end, not much you can say about it. They played the same way in the 2nd half, but we turned the ball over too much and they got out and ran and they made open shots. I don’t think they missed too many open shots, they just turned it up a notch and we weren’t able to get back into the game."
