Keith Smart
On the team's defense
"We just had some time to practice. We had a couple of days off and we can lock into some things that we need to do to clean up certain coverages because we have to change those coverages during the course of the game. I thought our guys followed it to a ‘T’, how we were going to play him (Derrick Rose) and kind of bottle him up a little bit. We couldn’t let him get his game going early, and that’s what he’s been able to do against a lot of teams."

"Defensively we’ve been doing some great things, but we haven’t been able to put it together for an entire game, or 40 minutes of a game. But today I think we did it…except for a little bit of the third quarter, but we put it together in the fourth quarter where it was a perfect defensive game in the 4th quarter."

On the significance of the win
"I understand it’s a big win for us, and a great for our organization but we are locked in on the prize. We are looking straight down the road; we are not looking at what just happened. We just passed that. Chicago is in the rearview mirror and now we have to move forward to the next game."
Monta Ellis
On tonight's game
"We played hard. We did a great defensive effort as a team and closed the game out."

On the significance of the win
"We needed this. We owed them for Chicago when they beat us by 30 there. We just wanted to come out and play hard and play all 48 minutes."
Dorell Wright
On the significance of the win
"Definitely the biggest win for us, just because the type of roll they’re on. The level Derrick Rose is playing at, (Carlos) Boozer and all those guys. I think this is definitely the biggest win by far this year. I am glad guys came to play. We listen to coaches’ game plan and we went out there and executed."

On defending Derrick Rose
"You know we trapped him and not letting him get in the paint. That’s when he’s most effective when he’s getting in the paint finding his teammates; he’s so athletic and strong that he can finish over the top with his up and unders."
David Lee
On tonight's game
"They hit some tough shots to start the (second) half. I think we had some that we would normally make that didn’t go in, we had some open looks and that’s going to happen. A mark of a resilient team like ours is that we continue to fight. We got it back even. The start of that fourth quarter our bench came in and gave us a huge lift. Ekpe (Udoh) played some great minutes tonight. Monta (Ellis) and Steph (Curry) got hot late and did a great job for us."
