1:52 min: Tim Roye's Game Recap
On tonight's game:
"I just told our guys that this is the team and the path that we want to be on. Our time is going to come, just how this team has made their push to start playing playoff basketball. I thought we had a good game. We had our ups and downs, but our guys played very well. We did everything we could do. We make a big shot to go up by one or two… We did everything we could, defensively, to guard two hot players, (Russell) Westbrook and (Kevin) Durant of course. But I thought our guys did a great job and almost had a chance to pull this thing off."
On the final play:
"We got the ball to one of our better playmakers off the dribble. He had a chance to either drive it, or see what the defense was going to do. He elected to take the jump shot and he was right on line. It just wasn’t in our favor."
On the play of Stephen Curry and the fight of his team:
"Stephen (Curry) did a great job. These guys did a great job with following the game plan we wanted. They kept it close in the first quarter. We knew we had to keep the first quarter close, and if we did that, we could come close to win the basketball game. I think we had a chance for that."
On his last shot:
"It was a good look to me. If you go back and look at last shots I have taken this season, you will notice that I took all of them the same way, even the one tonight. It just did not go down. We played hard, we played smart and competed. That is all you can ask for."
On his poor shooting in the first half:
"I just kept playing and helping my teammates in any way possible. It was a rough shooting night for me but my coaches and teammates told me to stick with it and keep shooting."
On tonight's game:
"They are a great team. We have gotten out to a slow start against them in the past. We got off to a great start tonight and I felt like we outplayed them or played them neck to neck. They just came up with some plays at the end to win it."
- No interesting notes to add tonight.
- No time to rest or cry. Memphis awaits us tomorrow. Expect tired legs tomorrow, too.
