Warriors at Timberwolves: Postgame Interviews (11/16/12) by Warriors
Mark Jackson
On tonight's win:
"Not a bad way at all (to start a road trip). That is a well-coached, hard-working team that started off the game the way that they wanted to and we were a step slow. To our credit, I thought it was important the way we closed out the 2nd quarter and started the 3rd quarter. That was a big time win for us."

On the rebounding advantage:
"Oh, absolutely (rebounding as key to the game). We talked about it after losing to Denver a couple games ago because they out-rebounded us and they dominated us. We made the adjustments and fortunately the last two games we have been doing a good job of securing the basketball and closing out defensive possessions."

On balanced scoring:
"I like to see guys aggressive and I think that is a result now of guys scoring double figures. They are making plays. We are playing closer to the pace we want to play at. Still, you want to play faster but I think overall, not having a home run hitter, we need balance and different guys... it is going to be different guys. We know Steph Curry is going to have the basketball and be a finisher for us but we need other guys that are willing to lock and load and make plays."

On coming back from an early deficit:
"We made the adjustments, we were a step slow which put us in position to be down 12. We talked about it in the huddle and they came out and made the adjustments. We executed offensively, we defended, and we rebounded. I thought our guys did a very good job of understanding why we were in the hole we were in and then doing something about it."

On Minnesota's Late Run:
"They are a well-coached team and we watched them make runs against other teams so we knew that (they would make a run). I have to give credit to my guys. A guy like Charles Jenkins who has not played as much as he wants to play....and he makes arguably the biggest play of the game on the high pick and roll and gets to the cup and finishes."

On Klay Thompson playing despite illness:
"You have to give him a lot of credit. There was a side of me that didn't even think he was going to play. We were about to send him back to the hotel to get some rest but he gutted it out and gave us everything he had. That is all we are going to ask of everybody so it was a big time effort from him and when he was done, other guys stepped up."
Harrison Barnes
On Tonight's Win:
"This team just kept playing hard. We got down early and made some adjustments in the second half and came out with the win."

On dominating the boards:
"David Lee had a big night rebounding for us and Carl (Landry) got in there for us. Our guards rebounded a lot to give us the opportunity to win."

On winning on the road:
"It's definitely one that feels good that we didn't let the game slip away from us. We can't dwell on this one. We have Oklahoma City next and we have to have a better game."
David Lee
On Tonight's Win:
"It wasn't there on the defensive end of us in the first quarter. They shot a good percentage. They had a lot of mid-range jumpers all night but I think points in the paint were greatly in our favor and that's the way we have to play. We controlled the boards once again but we played a lot better after that first quarter."

On team coming on strong in second half:
I couldn't find my rhythm in the first quarter. Once again I was one for five or one for six. I just try to do what I've been doing and that's to try and attack the glass and that really gets me into the flow of the game. I got a couple put-backs in the second quarter and got myself going. In the second half we played very well in the third, which has been our worst quarter all year long. In the fourth when they made a run coach called my number on that late play and I thought I made a good play there to give us a good bucket on their comeback trail. I think something that went overseen today is Andris (Biedrins). Andris gives us great minutes when he is in and makes a couple big plays for us. Festus (Ezeil) did a great job for us on the boards and then of course Charles (Jenkins) comes in and does a great job at the end."

- Klay Thompson was taken out of the game because he was sick with flu-like symptoms.

What's next?

- The road trip continues with an excellent test against the Thunder, who aren't as injured as the TWolves were tonight.
