Warriors at Trail Blazers Postgame Interviews (3/25/12) by GoldenStateWarriors
Mark Jackson
On The Difference Down The Stretch:
"They made shots. Raymond Felton hit some big shots. I couldn't be more proud of my guys-great energy, great effort, short-handed, getting in town this morning, early game, out-rebounding them. Charles Jenkins was phenomenal. Brandon Rush was all over the floor. This was the type of effort that allows you to build something, and I'm very pleased with what my guys did on the floor. Obviously disappointed with the loss, but satisfied with what we did on the floor."
On The Blazers Shooting 36.5 Percent From The Field:
"At the end of the day they made shots. They made the adjustment, and Raymond Felton stepped up and made some big shots, and hurt us."
On If Jenkins Will See More Playing Time:
"At the end of the day, we have Steph Curry and Nate Robinson. That's our starting point guard, who will play the bulk of the minutes, and Nate Robinson is our back-up. Charles Jenkins is a guy we have tremendous trust in. It won't be Jenkins-sanity, but he is a guy that is more than capable of going out and doing the job. We're pleased with his progress."
David Lee
On The Team's Effort In The Game:
"I'm pleased with the effort. Not happy with the result... never like to lose. But this is a Portland team that plays very well at home, and we had every excuse in the book to come here and play like we did at Houston a couple days ago where we just got absolutely overwhelmed. But we came out, we fought as a team. Charles Jenkins did an unbelievable job at the point filling in for Nate, who was filling in for Steph, who was filling in for Monta. So he did a great job tonight, and I'm very happy with the way our team fought."
On The Difference Down The Stretch:
"Aldridge and I more or less played to a stalemate, statistically. They doubled me when I made a move, and we doubled Aldridge, so that took us out of the game and it came down to shooting. Charles had a great game, and Raymond Felton had a great game for them shooting the ball down the stretch."
Charles Jenkins
On His Performance Tonight:
"Shots were definitely falling, more than they have been in the past couple games. At the beginning of the game, coach and my teammates were telling me just to be comfortable and play basketball, and that's something that I did. They told me to be aggressive, they all told me the game's a lot easier when I play aggressive, so that was my mindset coming out."
On His Confidence Building After This Game:
"I have a lot of great guys on my team that can score. When the opportunity presented itself to me to take open shots, that's something that I did. Unfortunately we didn't win, so I definitely can't celebrate on how well I played if I didn't finish it with a victory."
On The Last Play Of The Game:
"It was drawn up for me to come off of a screen, but they switched it and LaMarcus Aldrdige-his arms are very long. There was no way I could get a shot off with that little bit of time, so that was a tough play."
Notes
- Nate Robinson DNP because of the strained hamstring from yesterday.
What's next?
- We're not yet done with these back-to-backs, but at least the next back-to-back doesn't include travel. Now, with the Lakers in the next game, do you want to Beat LA, or Tank It?
