Warriors vs. Nets Postgame Interviews (3/30/12) by GoldenStateWarriors
Mark Jackson
On Tonight's Game:
"They outplayed us and we took our foot off the gas pedal. I'm a big boxing fan and you get some guys that know how to put people away when they are in trouble, and some guys that allow them to hang around and they pay the price later on. That's exactly what we did tonight. We didn't close them when we had them and it came back to bite us."
On The Final Possession:
"He [Charles Jenkins] was to make a decision off the high pick-and-roll. He got himself too deep, got in some trouble - great defense by Gerald Wallace. I'm not concerned about that play quite honestly. We played against a team that we had the on the ropes and we turned the ball over 11 times in the second half, we gave up 60 points in the second half, they outrebounded us 22-13 in the second half. They outworked us in our own building. It's not acceptable in their building. We had everything going for us and we started messing around."
On Charles Jenkins:
"He knows how to play. He's going to get better at reading pick-and-roll situations. You are talking about a rookie that wound up with a double-double against arguably the best at his position. Played him tough, scored and made the right decisions by distributing the basketball. He's going to get better at that. It's great to see how he's playing and what type of professional he truly is."
David Lee
On Rookie Inexperience to Blame:
"No, Charles (Jenkins) did a good job down the stretch. Jeremy (Tyler), although he played well, wasn't in at the end of the game. You're not going to blame it on those guys. In fact I have to watch film to even see where it went wrong."
On Starting To Feel The Momentum Change:
"At the start of the fourth quarter. Sometimes when you're on the floor you can't feel it as much, but I was on the bench at the start of the fourth quarter for a couple of minutes when they took it from 14 to 9 while I was on the bench. You can see Deron Williams coming back in; at that point we knew they had the momentum and that it was going to be a game."
Charles Jenkins
On Being More Of A Facilitator:
"I have great teammates. It's not like college where I was like one of the only threats on the floor. I have four other vets on the court. These are professionals who work on their game all the time. They are in a great situation where they just have to worry about scoring and it's my job as a point guard to get them the ball."
On What He Has Learned When He Has The Ball For The Final Possession:
"To not get to deep because I'm not six foot six who's trying to shoot over someone who's a lot taller than me. Something that I've learned is to at least take a quicker shot so our guys can rebound and get another one off."
Notes
