2:00 min: Mark Jackson Postgame - 3/4
Mark Jackson
On Recent Second-Half Struggles:
"Well that's four games in a row where we've had bad third quarters. We knew that coming into this one. We talked about it at halftime and once again we were thoroughly outplayed. We didn't execute offensively and gave them hope and forced us to try and win the game a second time instead of putting them away when we should have."

"You have to understand, as a player, the opposing team is going to come out with some adjustments. They are also going to come out with more intensity and we have not responded. You can talk about it, talk about it, talk about it, but we’ve done nothing to change it."

On Missing Good Point Guard Play:
"We are a no excuse basketball team. Monta Ellis is good enough to lead us, and we're good enough to win. So this is a very disappointing loss."
Monta Ellis
On Tonight's Game:
"I don't know what to tell you. We had a 10-point lead going into the third quarter and then we came out, I don't know. We ran the offense the way we wanted to and got shots when we needed to. Sometimes we held the ball too long and waited until the shot-clock ran all the way down and then we had to force a shot, and then they got out and ran. We didn't stick to our defensive scheme that we had in the first half and they got whatever they wanted."
David Lee
On Team's Recent Poor Third Quarters:
"It hasn't been good that's for sure. Tonight, not a terrible defensive quarter they scored 22 points, we scored 11. Offensively we're not shooting the ball well from behind the arc. For whatever reason, we're just not shooting the ball well as a team right now. We settled for a lot of jump shots in the third quarter tonight, me included. When you're missing jumpers it also fuels the other team's fast-break because you have long rebounds, and you don't get the other team into foul trouble, so driving the ball late in the quarter doesn't matter too much. All around it was a bad quarter for us."

On Team's Shooting Struggles:
"I don't feel like guys are taking bad shots and if they were taking bad shots that would have been addressed by coach a long time ago. I feel like guys are getting good looks and for whatever reason, they are just not going down right now. Because those threes aren't going down at the same rate, they are paying a lot of extra attention to Monta (Ellis) and myself on the isolations. Coach said it last game, it's not a situation where you say guys stop shooting, we have great shooters shooting the shots and they are getting open looks. At this point, guys just need to continue to get that extra work in and be ready to go next game, and eventually they'll fall and we'll have a five or six game stretch where we'll shoot above 50 percent from three, like we did earlier this year."

Interesting Tweets

(yesterday)
gswscribe: Stephen Curry takes it easy in practice. Will test sprained right foot before Sunday's game.
gswscribe: Warriors forward Ekpe Udoh said the right knee he banged Friday feels fine and he'll be ready Sunday vs. Toronto

(after the game)
gswscribe: The last four third quarters, Golden State has been outscored 103-61 (an avg of 10.5 per game). Monta sounded so frustrated when asked if anything needed to be changed in the third quarters: "Maybe so. Who knows? Don’t know what to tell you. We had a 10-point lead and we came out and … I don’t know.”

Notes

- No interesting notes to add tonight.

What's next?

- It's the Wizards tomorrow on a back-to-back to finish the road trip. We should beat them, right? Right???
