The Golden State Warriors will begin their 2012 Las Vegas Summer League today at 5 p.m. against the Los Angeles Lakers.

And with last year's summer league cancelled due to the NBA lockout, this summer's Warriors squad has a few players that might stand to benefit from the extra court time.

Not only will we get a glimpse of the team's three 2012 rookies playing together in Warriors' gear for the first time, but we'll also get to see what, if any, signs of improvement there are from second-year players Charles Jenkins and Jeremy Tyler who will be going through their first full cycle (summer league, preseason, 82-game regular season) as NBA players.

The Warriors' site has already offered a breakdown of their full summer league roster, but below is some additional statistical information for those interested.

A few brief notes:

  • Klay Thompson is not expected to play much, if at all, in order to both rest after playing Team USA and free up more minutes for these other guys.
  • Maalik Wayns previously played in the Orlando Pro Summer League, but left early to join this Warriors squad. Click here for some notes on his first game there.
  • The Warriors did initially have a 21-player roster but released a few players to get down to 16.
  • Vegas Summer League games begin today at 1 p.m. PST with all games being broadcast on NBA TV. For updates on game results and player performances, visit SB Nation's NBA summer league storystream.
