Santa Cruz Warriors trade Carlon Brown to Idaho Stampede for Paul Carter

The Santa Cruz Warriors have traded guard Carlon Brown and a fourth round pick to the Idaho Stampede in return for Paul Carter, who played for the Atlanta Hawks in summer league and has also been in Utah Jazz training camp.

Not content to simply be first place in the D-League at 9-2, the Santa Cruz Warriors have traded guard Carlon Brown and a fourth round pick in the 2013 NBA D-League Draft to the last place Idaho Stampede (2-12) in return for Paul Carter.

Brown has only played six games for the Warriors after coming to Santa Cruz after attending Golden State Warriors training camp this fall. With so many guards on the roster - and Kent Bazemore playing games as a NBA assignee - there just weren't many minutes available for Brown.

Carter, a 6-foot-8 forward, went undrafted out of University of Illinois - Chicago in the 2011 NBA Draft, but found his way to Utah Jazz training camp before joining the Stampede last season and averaging 10.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. SB Nation's Utah Jazz site SLC Dunk has more on Carter and what the Jazz saw in him as well. How big a role he'll get in Santa Cruz after averaging just 11.3 minutes in Idaho this season remains to be seen.

The video above is a comprehensive biographical sketch including a feature on his relationship with his sister and some game film from college.
