Warriors at Clippers: Postgame Interviews (1/5/13) by Warriors
Mark Jackson
On tonight's game:
"One loss can turn into two losses which can turn into three losses. At the end of the day we didn’t play well, they were a step faster and they were the more aggressive team. They played with the edge tonight and we are just going to throw this one out and build off of it."
On team's defensive effort:
"They got over 30 points in three different quarters and that is not our brand of defense and that is not our style of play."
On losing after beating the Clippers on Wednesday:
"We knew that Wednesday was fresh on their mind. We knew they were going to come out and go after us and we did not respond tonight. We don’t accept it, but we will own it. They were the better team tonight, clearly."
David Lee
On tonight's loss:
"The Clippers were the better team tonight and they out played us in every facet of the game. Their starters and their bench out played us thoroughly and it wasn’t due to a lack of preparation. It was just one of those nights where they out played us. My whole message to our team was let’s not be front runners, let’s not be the guys that are jumping around when we are winning and then when we are losing pointing the fingers at each other. Everyone understands that from the coaching staff to the players and we are going to be back next game against a tough Memphis team ready to roll."
On losing by a large margin:
"NBA players realize that out of an 82-game season there is going to be nights like this and there are going to be nights where you can’t miss and there is going to be nights where you win by 30. There is going to be nights where guys are banking in 3s from the top of the key and out playing you on every possession. The last game we felt like this was against Denver, but other than that, we have been in every single game. But give the Clippers credit, they were on their 4th game in 5 nights and they came out and out played us from the jump and they were the better team tonight. We will be back next game ready to go."
Jarrett Jack
On shooting a low percentage in the first quarter:
"We had a difficult time as far as knocking down shots which definitely is not the norm for us. We dug ourselves a hole early. I thought we were going to be able to dig ourselves out there for a second, but they are a resilient bunch and they withstood our run and we just have to try to put this one behind us."
On turnovers tonight:
"Our turnovers tonight allowed them to extend their lead and it made a deeper hole to get ourselves out of."
Notes
- Note: We sucked.
What's next?
- The light schedule continues as we get ANOTHER 3 days off before we host a tough Grizzlies team on Wed. That's a long time to sit on this loss, and it'll be another good test of the Warriors mental grit and resiliency.
