On their 5-0 home record
“We have a winning mindset which is to take care of business at home. Compete on the road and there are games that you should win on the road, but take care of business at home. The teams that have truly successful years, they take care of business at home. That’s the first thing to being a good team. We are learning that and hopefully will keep it going.”
On their third quarter:
“I don’t think we intentionally slowed down they just started scoring. They had 29 points in the third quarter, a big quarter for them. I thought we did a poor job containing the dribble for the first time all game long and they got us caught up in rotations and hurt us. We made the proper adjustments, but during that period they were scoring and getting to the foul line and it affected our pace.”
On Klay Thompson's development since when he was drafted:
“He’s not better as a shooter. There were people around here that said he should be shooting that much. He’s a knockdown shooter and was born there. He is not one bit better as a shooter then when we had him. He’s a better player. He’s a better defender, better pick-and-roll basketball player, a better decision maker and overall just a better player – no question about that. He’s had the gift of shooting the basketball since birth. When he got here I wanted him to shoot the basketball. To me, he’s a top five two guards in this league and I’m being respectful. He is absolutely, both sides of the court, puts him in a different class.”
On Jermaine O'Neal's injury:
“I took a full timeout because he means a lot to this basketball team. He has a voice in this locker room and we had to regroup. Never fun or easy to watch a teammate go down like that. We pray that everything is fine with him. At the end of the day we have to have guys that will step up and be ready.”
On Stephen Curry's reduced turnover numbers:
“He’s a top notch basketball player, a superstar player. I was never going to go crazy with the turnovers. He’s a guy that some nights he will turn the basketball over, can’t get carried away. He understands what he has to do in order for us to be successful and he’s done a much better job of taking care of the basketball. That approach and mentality is contagious and other guys are starting to be more cautious. We are so good offensively we can’t give away possessions."
On his rotation based on Jermaine O'Neal's injury:
“As usual it will be by feel. I’ve got guys that I believe in that are more than capable of holding the fort down if that is the situation. It will be a great opportunity. It’s a long year and that’s why it’s so important for the guys to stay ready because when their number is called and the opportunity presents itself, you can take off running. I believe in Mo (Marreese Speights) that’s why he have him here, I believe in Draymond Green obviously, and Kuz (Ognjen Kuzmic) is a guy that knows how to play. We’ll figure it out. We have the versatility of big wing guys to play small. There are no concerns. The good teams figure it out and make no excuses."
David Lee
On winning at home:
“It’s something that is very important and I think we’ve handled it well. It’s something that we need to do to be a successful team and to reach where we want to reach in this regular season. So far we’ve ‘beaten the teams we’re supposed to beat’ and we’ve won games at home. Now we need to go on the road and do the same thing against a Jazz team that’s going to come back and want a little revenge, so we’ve got a tough task ahead of us in the next couple of days and we’re ready for it.”
On unselfishness:
“It’s good. It’s nice that nobody is worried about statistics right now, just worried about finding a way, as a team, to get a win. We can count on somebody in our starting lineup getting a good shot as long as we keep moving the ball and I think its beautiful basketball when we can share the ball like we did, especially in the first half there.”
On rebounding:
“Not only that, but after they beat us pretty good on the backboards in Utah in the preseason, we knew that was one of their strengths as a team. I thought we did a very good job on the backboard tonight.”
Stephen Curry
On playing at home:
“So far so good, we’re winning every game and playing pretty consistently for 48 minutes. We’re having a couple dry spots, but that’s going to happen, you’ve got to just figure out how to keep the gas pedal down. Our defense is solid, especially at home. Regardless of shooting the ball well, our defense is showing up.”
On finishing games:
“It’s too early, it’s only ten games. There’s still a lot of time to keep building our chemistry when it comes to finishing games. We’re a lot more experienced than we were last year, just going through those times where we couldn’t hold the lead. Hopefully we’re better at it, but still not proven yet. We’ve got to continue to stay focused in that area when it comes to finishing games.”
Klay Thompson
On his improvement this year:
“It’s just being more patient, taking better shots, getting stronger, and we’ve got Andre Iguodala now. He makes my job a lot easier.”
On making adjustments and playing the Jazz Monday night:
“We’ll play them as normal. I thought our defense was great. We held them to under 40 percent shooting. They had 88, but we played well on the defensive end so no big adjustment. Maybe on some plays guarding the ball screen, but that’s about it.”

- The preliminary diagnosis is that Jermaine O'Neal suffered a sprained right knee and a strained right groin.
What's next?
- Like the playoffs, we get a day off and then we face the exact same Jazz in their place. Except, it's the 4th seed vs the 15th seed. So let's not screw around, OK?
