And a one, and a two... (insert smoky saxaphone riff)

OK, let's start with the obvious: this is a trap game. The Dubs handled the Jazz Saturday, and could be looking forward to payback against the Griz on Wednesday. That's a classic trap - but hopefully the Warriors can pass out of the trap.

Losing Jermaine O'Neal for a while isn't going to help. He's officially listed as day-to-day, with a bruised right knee and a minor right groin strain. Not as bad as it looked, but still, an injury is an injury, even if it's a minor one. So is it panic time? Activate the White Mamba? Sign a borderline player for too much? Do nothing? Or, just maybe, go with your pre-established Plan B.

And.....Plan B it is. According to Woz at Yahoo!, Golden State is planning now to sign Dedmon for the rest of the year. Rather than rushing around in a panic to add someone and break the tax barrier prematurely, Dedmon should provide a few minutes of emergency backup, while allowing the Dubs to explore small-ball lineups with David Lee at center and either Draymond Green or Harrison Barnes at the 4.

In his 2 preseason D-League games, Dedmon has averaged 13.5 pts on .647 FG%, 12 rebounds, 4 blocks, 1.5 steals, 2 turnovers and 4 fouls in 27.5 minutes.

Unlike ragtime, you should play Jazz fast. They can't run with the Warriors - no one has been able to so far. Other than that, the game is the same. Rebound, shoot, defend, rinse, repeat. I don't expect huge nights for anyone, tonight - mebbe just because I can't feel hyper up for it and am looking towards Wednesday myself. trap!!! Hopefully we'll see a little more of the Lee-Green frontcourt tonight with the starting perimeter. And hopefully, the starters will put the game away in the third quarter and hold their minutes down.

Above all I urge compassion for the Jazz fans. We know how tough it can be was going through a season with hope for a draft pick as the only redeeming value. Be humble, be sympathetic - and save the giggles for the LOLakers.

Predictions

  • Warriors by 12
  • Double-double for Andrew Bogut, double-double for Stephen Curry... let's go full Oprah - double-doubles for EVERYONE.
  • David Lee - 20 rebounds, 4 points. Just to balance it out.
