Mark Jackson
On the pace of tonight's game:
“We wanted to push the pace. I thought that’s when the game changed when we started to walk it up the floor. Obviously they scored a little bit more, slowed it down by posting up their bigs. There’s no secret we are at our best when we are pushing the basketball.”

On how the team performed without Stephen Curry:
“Obviously he’s a big time player and not having him hurts us. Next guy stands up and we are a no excuse basketball team and I thought my guys gave a great effort. They defended, battled and we fell short. Even without Steph (Stephen Curry) we feel we are more than capable of leaving here with a victory. Disappointed right now.”

On if the starters were affected by the extended minutes:
“No, I just think in situations when the game gets tight, the natural instinct is to slow it down and get a good one. Those are the situations where you have to push it even more.”

On not using a timeout for the final play in regulation:
“We had talked about it previously; he (Andre Iguodala) did a good job of getting to his spot so he had options. I’m fine with the action that took place.”

On the Memphis Grizzlies:
“They outplayed us tonight. It makes no sense going back how many times they have beaten us, they beat us tonight. We battled, defended executed and fell short. This is a very good basketball team that is very smart also so give them credit.”
David Lee
On the offense without Stephen Curry:
“Not so much push the pace, we just have a better rhythm offensively. We’re capable of getting easier shots, just because we’ve played with that lineup so many more games. Guys are in different spots when Steph’s not in there, or when any key guy from the starting lineup is out. It changes the spacing, it changes where guys are on the floor, where guys catch the ball, and we discussed that after our loss at San Antonio without Steph. Tonight I thought was similar, and also give them credit, they are a very good defensive team and protect the paint well.”

On the starters playing a lot of minutes:
“Yeah but that’s no type of excuse because their starters played a lot of minutes too. It’s early season, something you’ve got to just fight through, and next time we have to play that many minutes we’ll be even more ready for that.”
Andre Iguodala
On the final play of regulation:
“Yeah, we didn’t want to take a timeout and tried to get a good look. I feel like I had an advantage. [Marc] Gasol did a good job of helping over on the shot. They played really good defense on that play.”

On defense:
“It was a well-rounded defensive game. We made them take tough shots and they made us take tough shots. It came down to a battle of wills. Both teams were going back and forth to their second and third options to see what they could get. It was a good basketball game and they came away with it at the end.”

On his shooting performance:
“I felt really good. A few were short but a few were just right there. Playing from a different position, I’m getting looks that I didn’t know were there but were there. I’ve just got to go into it and take the shots, not second guess.”

- Another game, another injury: Ognjen Kuzmic fractured his 5th metacarpal (pinkie finger) on his right hand in the first quarter. He is out indefinitely.

What's next?

- They say Curry's flying with the team to LA. Unless his headache comes back, which it doesn't seem to, the chances are good that he'll play on Friday against the Lakers, and on national TV also. When Curry knows he's in the spotlight, watch out.
