Mark Jackson
On the defensive play by Andrew Bogut:
"Big time play, I thought his defense overall was stellar. Playing a premier big man (DeMarcus Cousins) he forced him to make tough shots. He's the anchor of our defense. He did a great job of coming over from the weak side and big-time shot blocker."
On the team's defense:
"That's when we're at our best. We're active with our bodies. We're active with our hands. We did a very good job forcing them into turnovers and you have to do that on the road. Overall I thought that we were pretty sharp. They made shots. The thing that I'm most proud of is that they put together a run. We kept our heads up. We executed offensively and big plays by different individuals but awfully proud of the win today."
On the team's backcourt:
"I have a great backcourt with two guys that can light up the scoreboard. The thing that I love most about them is people fall in love with the shooting which is the obvious but they compete. They have really developed into a really good defensive tandem. I thought both guys did an outstanding job on the defensive end."
Stephen Curry
On closing out a close game:
"It's been frustrating as of late now being able to close out games especially on the road. Everybody stepped up and they played. Klay hits a big three. Draymond with a big tip-in. Made them take tough shots. They were making a couple but then Bogut comes back and cleans the glass on the last play. Everybody pitched in. It was a good learning lesson for us to continue to stick to the program even though it has a turn…eventually we'll figure it out."
Klay Thompson
On his career three-point shooting:
"I got a lot of open looks. I let it fly. That's how I got to play - just let it fly and not think about it."
On the defensive backcourt:
"Any fan in the NBA, most of them, they're not going to even notice the defensive side of ball as far as rotations, being in the right spot at the right time. It's easy to follow the offense. That's how we're going to be great. Commit to that and don't base our performance too much off of our offense because that's not going to be there every night; defense, we can control that."
Notes
- No interesting notes tonight.
What's next?
- We're finally back home, but for one game only. The Raptors are in 4th place in the East with a record of 6-10 because they're leading the Craplantic division. Anyway, after that game, there's a rough @Rockets + @Grizzlies back to back at the end of the week.
