On tonight's game:
“The Bobcats got a rhythm early and we were a step slow. Draymond Green gave us a burst of energy, we made a run and started scoring. Defensively when we needed stops we didn’t come up with them.”
On coming back to tie the game:
“We showed a lot of fight, there is no question about that. But that is that type of fight you give before you get down. We don’t have to prove that we can fight back into ballgames. What we do have to prove is that we can take over games early and play 48 minutes of our brand of basketball.”
On tonight's game:
“We’ve got to focus on how we start games with our focus, effort and energy. Defensively, we were better in the second half, we just couldn’t make any shots and gave them a 10-point lead. It’s tough to come back from that against any team on the road. It’s a tough loss for us.”
On Charlotte's defense:
“They were trying to send me to spots where they had help and force me take bad shots, especially when I missed my first four. They continued the game plan and it was just me trying to shoot myself out of the slump. Like I said, we just didn’t have the energy as a unit in the first half. It’s tough to get going, you’ve got to find a way to control the game when the shots aren’t falling.”
On playing well in his home town:
“It’s always fun to play in front of your friends and family and people you know. You want to play well. It was a fun game, but very disappointing. It’s early in the season, but this game stings a bit more than the rest. It’s tough to drop a key road game at this point in the season, it just happened to be in Charlotte.”
On tonight's game:
“We have to come out with our own energy like we did in Memphis. We did a good job of it that night, but didn’t do it tonight. We came back a little bit after we changed our attitudes and stopped the turnovers.”
On the difference between home and road games:
“Great teams are great on the road and at home, especially when you know you’re better than the other team. We’re about to go home, which is nice, but you’ve got to take it one game at a time. If you look too far forward into the future, you just get complacent.”
(after the game)
Rusty_SFChron: Draymond Green has a sprained left ankle and is getting x-rays right now.
Rusty_SFChron: X-rays negative on draymond green ankle. Just a sprain.
- No interesting notes tonight.
- The road trip and traveling is finally over. 7 of the next 9 games are at home, with one game @Phoenix and one game @Denver. No excuses - this is where we climb the standings. They can start by FINALLY beating Monta on Wednesday.
