Mike Malone to the Sacramento Kings, PANIC!

After several weeks of flirting, I think, the Sacramento Kings hired Mike Malone as their head coach.

USA TODAY Sports

WHO WILL DO THE Xs and Os NOW? MARK JACKSON IS NOTHING BUT A PREACHER AND MOTIVATOR!

I guess you can panic or whatever. I don't really know what he did behind closed doors but between him, Mark Jackson and the rest of the assistant coaches, they were collectively excellent last season. The last-place defense finished in the middle of the pack and the offense was built perfectly around the shooting of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. The key word there is "collectively". I have no doubt that Malone is a very good coach but I also don't know just how much he did in huddles, on the proverbial chalkboard, or anything else, for that matter.

If you got inside information or snuck a glance in team huddles during the games, feel free to let us all know.

It'll be interesting to see who the Warriors promote or hire and how Mark Jackson adjusts, but to say this is an irrevocable loss is a bit silly and premature. Until then, let the debate rage on.
