2013 NBA free agency rumors: Dwight Howard expected to meet with the Golden State Warriors on Monday

Sam Amick reports that the Golden State Warriors will meet with Dwight Howard on Monday.

Contrary to a previous report, free agent Dwight Howard will be meeting with the Golden State Warriors on Monday, according to Sam Amick of USA Today.

Royce Young of CBS Sports reports that the Houston Rockets will be first in line to meet with Howard sometime after 9 p.m. PST on Sunday and will bring, "general manager Daryl Morey, coach Kevin McHale, owner Les Alexander, Hakeem Olajuwon, James Harden and Chandler Parsons as part of the group to recruit him." After that meeting, Amick reports that Howard will apparently meet with Golden State and the Atlanta Hawks on Monday before meeting with the Dallas Mavericks and the L.A. Lakers on Tuesday. Young suggested that Howard will give the Lakers the last word, despite previous reports that he's unlikely to re-sign with them.

If the past is any indication, this means the Warriors will be right in the thick of the rumor mill this summer (or until Howard makes his decision on July 10) and regardless of whether they actually figure out how to get him, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports comments that it could be a good thing just in terms of letting the rest of the league know that things done changed around this organization.
