On tonight's game:

“We have to be better. The very good teams or the great teams in this league they take care of their business. Right now we are a team that if a championship caliber team comes in here or an elite team comes in here we play at that level. If a bad team or average team comes in we play at that level. We are not good enough to allow who comes in here to determine how hard we play.. We turned the basketball over, gave up second chance opportunities, poor execution, short shot clock, gave up high percentage looks and didn’t get the 50/50 basketballs. Just a bad night and a disappointing loss of us.“

On the poor shooting and the turnovers:

“This is a make or miss league. I’m not into guys missed shots. We missed shots and we still should have won the ballgame. Not taking care of the basketball again, not closing out possessions – didn’t play at a championship level intensity and that’s the disappointing part. The championship teams it doesn’t matter who is on the other side. We played at their level to be quite honest.”

On how the bench played:

“Those guys gave us great minutes. I thought the bench guys did a very good job of battling and competing. We were up 49-39 and they went on a 20-2 run.”

On if he thinks David Lee's shoulder bothered him:

“He’s out on the floor so there is no excuse. If we are going to give him props playing well against LaMarcus Aldridge then he didn’t play well tonight. I’ve played in this league and it’s a no excuse basketball team. If you are on the floor then we will grade your play.”

On their defense against the Wizards:

“This is not the same John Wall that came into the league; he’s worked on his game and should be an All-Star. Four seconds to go on the shot clock, we are off bodies, and Bradley Beal hits a jumper. Not just the guy defending him, we are all off bodies and nobody was locked in. That’s not our type of defense. “

On how they can find consistent game intensity against every team:

“The good teams do it and the great players do it. The locked in teams that are truly committed do it. Right now we are not doing it. Let’s stop reading the press clippings and find a way to go out there and get it done. The team that we are facing in the Wizards they are not playing in front of 20,000 people. When teams come into this building they are playing in front of 20,000 people going crazy, they are being supportive with the bright lights and they are ready to play. When you give teams life you will have to deal with them. Too many times we find ourselves forced to win ballgames when we should have won them 20 minutes earlier.”

Stephen Curry
On being more consistent at home:

“It just challenges us to find a way to be more consistent. We’ve shown that we can handle our business against teams like Portland and then have lost some bad games. We made a point to make it known that just because we’re at home we’re not just going to win games automatically. Obviously we didn’t learn that lesson quick enough.”

On the final play:

“On the last possession they tried to force us out, they didn’t foul, and they just relied on good defense and put some length after the switch on me. I just couldn’t find a good angle and had to throw something up.”

Andrew Bogut
On the game:

“I still think our effort wasn’t great. They got a lot of o-boards, a key two towards the end of the game. We weren’t making shots. We did defend pretty well but we turned the ball over and couldn’t make any shots, so it caused a loss for us.”

On being too comfortable:

“I think we’re just too comfortable coming into games. I think we’re just coming in and thinking that the crowd is going to win us the game. We come out with inconsistent effort from game to game to start games, the stars included, everybody. Then we just have lulls for four or five minutes where we just disappear mentally, especially defensively and it seems like we want to just shoot our way back into ballgames and when shots aren’t falling you can’t do that.”

Andre Iguodala
On lack of intensity:

“You see it in stretches. You’ve got to be more consistent with it. Like I said before, we’re kind of spoiled with our fans in the way they come out and they’re into it every night. We try to just use their intensity but we’ve got to draw from ourselves. Teams are coming in here and they’re not sleeping on us anymore; they’re looking to come in here and put up a good effort and perform, so we’ve got to be aware of that.”

On learning from mistakes:

“We’ve just got to continue to learn from one another, learn from our mistakes, continue to try to execute down the stretch, keep low turnover games. We got outrebounded, which doesn’t happen much, tonight. So we’ve just got to clean up a few things that we’ve been lacking lately.”

- Despite Chris Paul being out due to injury, the Clippers have been on a roll, though it's mainly because they've been beating up on the crappy and mediocre teams. Thursday's game is on TNT only, and we're mediocre lately. Get those paper bags ready.
