Back at it at the Roaracle tonight. We're on a 10 game win streak and no... it's not a dream, Warriors fans. This is the real deal!
Amongst starting the season off with a franchise-best record of 14-2, we're gunning for win number 11 as we take on the New Orlean Pelicans. How are we going to go into this game is the big question: After a superb 5-0 road trip, our fellas came home exhausted and lacked chemistry against the Magic but still managed to get the W. Anthony Davis and company come into town to give the Warriors another big test. It's a battle of young guns as our Dubs square off against the Pelicans!
Looking at these Pelicans (I swear, I've lost track of the name changes between the Hornets, Bobcats & Pelicans these past few seasons!): They're coming off a big win vs Oklahoma City and Kevin Durant upon his return. Anthony Davis & Tyreke Evans are going to keep Golden State's hands full tonight. Whether it's Evans' relentless drive to the basket or Davis' "do-it-all" mentality, it's going to put our 10 game win streak on the line. Both these guys scored 55 points combined against the Thunder. Let's not forget Jrue Holiday as well who had a double-double Tuesday night. He may be the team's x-factor. Don't let that 8-8 record fool ya' -- this is going to be a physical game.
After Tuesday's win over Orlando, Stephen Curry delivered a magic trick of his own in the form of a 3-pointer with 2.2 seconds left in the 4th! That sealed the deal for the win. After a day off, how will the Warriors feel going into tonight's game? (Let's not give em' another 5 days off, which was torture for the fans!) To keep things rolling, we've got one helluva lineup working for us and our rotation off the bench is going to be brutal for New Orleans. That, of course, is if we have a good shooting night and key defensive players like Andrew Bogut continue to serve block parties against our opponents. I would always single out a key player on our team as our "X-factor." Each night I watch this team play, I feel like a handful of players are ready to contribute as a whole. Call 'em X-factor's complementing our Splash Brothers. Speights, Barnes, Iguodala, Barbosa & Green can all make big contributions at the same time. The key tonight is consistency. If it gets sloppy than we got problems.
Predictions. I got dibs on the Warriors taking this one and think it can go two ways for us. We either win it in a dramatic fashion or run the points up high enough that we win in double digits. Make your shots, play good defense, a solid rotation from our line up and Warrior fans will go home happy tonight.
Let's get to work fellas. That 11 game win streak is just four quarters away!
