On their third quarter play tonight:

“We defended at a high level. If you think about the first quarter we gave up 29 points and in the second quarter 32 points-that’s a tough team that is extremely talented on the offensive end. The third quarter we limited them to 17 points. We got it done. We rebounded, executed offensively and took care of the basketball. The things that have always put us in position to win ball games. Just a total team effort and a big time win against a dangerous team that can score with the best of them.”

On trapping the pick-and-roll with Dragic in the third quarter:

“He’s a heck of a basketball player and you don’t want to give him a steady diet of anything. We made the adjustment and got the ball out of his hands which forced other guys to make plays. I think it wore him out a little bit and forced other guys to make plays. It was a difference maker because it took it out of the thing that they do best which is (Goran) Dragic isolation plays or (Goran) Dragic pick-and-rolls whether that be scoring or making plays for other guys on the floor.”

On Stephen Curry:

“He told me that he was feeling fine. The guys had a sense of urgency and they understood how big this game was and that we had an opportunity to take control of it. I thought Steph (Stephen Curry) did a great job of doing similar things that they did. Steph (Stephen Curry) came off high pick-and-rolls and he made plays for himself and put guys in position to score. He really took over the game in the third quarter. I was just trying to make sure, at some point, to get him a breather. I was conscious of how many minutes he had been playing and the demand on his body, not only offensively but defensively defending (Goran) Dragic.”

On if Stephen Curry talked him out of taking him out in the first quarter:

“Yeah, he was coming out. He looked at me and told me he was alright so I subbed Steve (Blake) in and kept Stephen (Curry) in as well. The second time I was determined to take him out because cooler heads had to prevail.”

On David Lee:

“He was in attack mode from the first or second play when he posted up Channing Fyre and made a move in the paint area. He put pressure on the defense, rebounded and had multiple effort plays defending the pick-and-roll. It’s awfully tough to try to contain (Goran) Dragic and get back to defend Channing Fyre on the perimeter, but David (Lee) but did a great job of doing that. He was all over the court with a big time energy and effort game.”

On the importance of winning home games:

“Very important. This is very important for us to protect our home court. Our goal is to not lose any more home games for the rest of the season. I thought we had a sloppy first half. I thought they played harder than we did in the first half. We talked about it at halftime and we wanted to play our style of play, win or lose, and I thought we really did that in the third quarter. We had one of our best quarters of the year as a team and just really proud of our guys for getting another win.”

On playing with the lead and closing out games:

“They’re a streaky team. They can put a lot of points on the board quickly. We missed a few free throws there. That’s something that occasionally happens and that’s why you build the cushion that you do. We probably could have played a little bit better with the lead than we did but just happy that we were able to close it out and we were able to get stops when we needed to.”

On Stephen Curry's leadership:

“Steph has been a great leader for us all year long. He’s not only a great leader as far as how he plays on the court but also he’s one of the best teammates in the league. He’s been one of our leaders all year long and I would expect that from him.”

On the team stepping up in the second half:

“We really stepped up. We created some turnovers and got some easy baskets from that and just made them earn everything they got in the third and fourth quarter. It obviously helps when you get out on the offensive and Klay Thompson is shooting the ball the way he does, and Steph, and really got it going offensively.”

On Coach Jackson using a small lineup:

“That’s just the way the game goes. When they put Channing [Frye] at the five that’s a tough cover for me and Jermaine [O’Neal]. Draymond [Green] and David Lee did a great job out there for us defensively so you can definitely see why it happens. There’s going to be games where that’s going to happen and there’s going to be games where the opposite happens, but the most important thing is that at the end of the game you get the win.”

On the team's strong third quarter performance:

“When we came out in the third quarter we defended at a high level, took care of the basketball, and got good shots, and that’s when we’re at our best. We sustained it for 12 minutes and got that 14-point lead going into the fourth.”
