If Bob Myers and the Golden State Warriors are waiting for Brandon Rush to take a roster spot instead of keeping one by default, tonight seems to be a good opportunity for him to do so.
According to CSN's Monte Poole, Rush will get the start tonight against the Houston Rockets with Harrison Barnes out with a bone bruise suffered during Tuesday's game against the Denver Nuggets.
Brandon Rush likely to start for Harrison Barnes tonight for #Warriors.

Of course, we shouldn't read too much into this: a) it's only the preseason and b) interim coach Luke Walton has stated that practices mean more than what we see in the games, a point that can easily be overlooked as we obsess over who gets the last 2-3 spots on the roster. However, with most of the Rockets' lineup out for tonight's game, a good night for Rush wouldn't exactly hurt his cause.
To be clear: only one #Rockets starter, Terrence Jones, active tonight vs. #Warriors at Oracle. Harden, D12 & others will sit.

I mean, if you think the other team really matters to begin with.
Draymond Green on #Rockets w/o most of their starters vs #Warriors tonight: 'Doesn't matter. It's about us.'
