The Golden State Warriors will not be signing Harrison Barnes to a contract extension before November 2nd deadline of this year.
Warriors GM Bob Myers says team and Harrison Barnes have agreed to suspend contract talks 'til July. So no extension before Nov. 2 deadline— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) October 27, 2015
This makes sense on all fronts. There's no way the Warriors can give him more than a set percentage over what he's making right now ($3.87mm) and the expanding salary cap of the NBA is probably going to help Barnes land an $60 million contract next year based on other signings we've been seeing.
It's better for everyone to just focus on trying to repeat as NBA champions this season and worry about Barnes after a 2nd trophy.
