Basketball is finally back! Unfortunately the Warriors (again) will not be televised when they play the Trail Blazers tonight at the Moda Center in Portland. Leaving us to watch highlights of LeBron taking selfies with fans, *sigh*. To make matters worse, apparently you can't bet on preseason NBA games. I thought this was America dammit!
So let us lower our blood pressure and shift our attention away from the ever important preseason to look ahead at some future bets. Currently the Cleveland Cavaliers (MINUS-300) are a huge favorite to win the Eastern Conference while the San Antonio Spurs (PLUS-200) are favored to win the Western Conference. The Warriors (PLUS-300) are right behind the Spurs to win the West.
The graphic above lists each team and their respective odds to win the 2016 NBA Finals. The Dubs are at PLUS-500 meaning that a $100 bet would return a $500 profit if the Warriors repeat as champs. Not too shabby of a bet if you ask me. Unfortunately this goes against my number one betting rule, don't ever ask me. My dark horse this season to win it all is the Houston Rockets at PLUS-1600. Get them while you can as their odds will surely shrink with a solid regular season or if teams like the Thunder and Clippers do not live up to expectations.
Bovada Sports also released OVER/UNDER win totals for each team for the upcoming season. The Warriors are at the top of that list with a projected win total of 59.5 games. The new look Blazers are projected at 29.5 wins. Check back to see featured GSoM contributor predictions on all 32 NBA teams projected win totals in the coming weeks.
And without further ado, odds for the 2016 rookie of the year.
