Sunday Reads: The streak is dead! Long live the streak!

All things must pass.

Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

Well guys, it was a hell of a run. A phenomenal, breathtaking stretch of basketball.

To that end, let's pour one out together.

Sunrise doesn't last all morning
A cloudburst doesn't last all day
Seems my love is up and has left you with no warning
It's not always going to be this grey

All things must pass
All things must pass away

I'll always remember this:

Sunset doesn't last all evening
A mind can blow those clouds away
After all this, my love is up and must be leaving
It's not always going to be this grey

All things must pass
All things must pass away
All things must pass
None of life's strings can last
So, I must be on my way
And face another day

This memory will keep me warm through the long cold winter.

Now the darkness only stays the night-time
In the morning it will fade away
Daylight is good at arriving at the right time
It's not always going to be this grey

All things must pass
All things must pass away
All things must pass
All things must pass away

As one streak ends, perhaps another begins.

"The King is dead" is the announcement of a monarch who has just died. "Long live The King!" refers to the heir who immediately succeeds to a throne upon the death of the preceding monarch.

The Warriors' historic streak may have come to an end, but the true season has really just begun.

And that's got me feeling like this:
