Reactions to Stephen Curry becoming the face of the NBA

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Rusty Simmons at The San Francisco Chronicle has a great article up on Stephen Curry, and my favorite parts are what others (and Curry himself) have to say about his meteoric rise to the top of the NBA.

He's an example for other young players to see that it's not just about being the biggest and the strongest player. While he's tall, he's not huge. I also think he's a player of great character. He's the kind of player commissioners dream about.

-NBA Commissioner Adam Silver

It's dope to see the success that he's had and to be acknowledged for it. He's on every commercial now. It's pretty incredible. It couldn't happen to a better guy. I couldn't be more proud or happier for him, because he's such a genuine person.

-Warriors teammate Draymond Green

I just try to put myself in a position where I can lay down the foundation for the next group of guys, and if Steph Curry's that guy, then this league will be where it needs to be, if not better

-LeBron James

Steph elicits the oohs and aahs generally reserved for the top few players in the league. He's become one of the top individual attractions in the league.

- Warriors head coach Steve Kerr

It's not like I campaigned for it. I don't know what goes into that talk. I just try to handle my business on and off the court. Obviously, I'm going to try to carry myself a certain way and lead my team a certain way.

I hope we do some great things, and whatever comes outside of that, I accept and embrace.
