NBA draft rumor: Warriors 'exploring possibility of trading up' in the draft

Golden State may have set its eyes on a particular prospect and could seek to move up to acquire him.

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Leading up to the NBA Draft, much of the talk surrounding the Warriors has been about using the 30th selection in the draft to sweeten the deal in a David Lee trade. Nevertheless, it seems Golden State may found a targeted prospect on hand and could entertain the idea of moving up.

Scott Howard-Cooper of NBA.com reports the Warriors have interest in doing just that:

With a tight budget for next season, the Warriors were expected to consider selecting a draft-and-stash talent (like Guillermo Hernangomez) or trading down to the second round to avoid paying a first round rookie scale contract. However, that could change if a specific player intrigues them.
