Wishing you a happy New Year!
Whatever the outcome permits, our Golden State Warriors are "splashing" for their 31st win of the season to open 2016. It's going to be another great time out at the Roaracle!
The Warriors. Rumor has it Coach Steve Kerr could be returning as early as tonight! If so, that's fantastic news for the team! To add a cherry on top, Stephen Curry possibly may see play time for tonight's game against Denver. It may be a game time decision. Fingers crossed we get the same news about Harrison Barnes. But if the guys need a little more time to get to 100%. let's give it to em'.
The last time we saw the Warriors in action, they went 1-1 during their Texas road trip. While I'd like to forget Wednesday's loss against the Dallas Mavericks, Golden State made up for it with their visit to Houston. Kay Thompson did his thing and sparked a 38-point night launching six 3-pointers. Draymond Green followed with a spectacular triple double performance, his fifth of the season.
The Nuggets are desperately looking for a win right now. After sliding 4 straight losses, Golden State is probably the last place these guys want to be at right now. There's that slight chance though, I'll give them that. We've seen crazier things happen in the NBA. Coach Malone is going to need healthy bodies to compete with GSW and it looks like a number of key players may return from their injuries.
- If Coach Kerr returns I can only imagine the ovation the home crowd and staff will give him. It will also be exciting to see him work his chemistry and reconnect with his team on the floor. Walton has done an incredible job as interim coach but seeing them together is long overdue!
- If both Stephen Curry and Danilo Gallinari return for tonight's game, it will be fun to see both players go head to head as always. I predict Curry will have a better night vs Galinari, who is returning from an ankle injury.
- Draymond Green is going to go for his sixth triple-double of the season and depending on how Denver plays, I think he can do it! The guy is so focused right now to make it happen.
- Would love to see a repeat performance from Klay Thompson. While 38 points seems like a tall order but if he gets hot, (including Steph and Draymond) we could be seeing a 120+ game tonight. Just keep it consistent and drive those stat numbers up!
New Year, first win of 2016. Dubs win by 10!
