Paul Pierce was once a genre-defying player. He rose to the pinnacle of the sport. He beat his chest and claimed a championship.
Now, he finds contentment in appearing on TV and judging other franchises.
"3-1? You’re not supposed to lose. 3-1? You should never lose. Golden State choked."
"Did you ever blow a 3-1 lead?"
"Never. That would never happen."
So, yeah, maybe you haven’t personally blown a 3-1 lead. But, tell me exactly how much better you really made this team, and how you would have prevented that type of embarrassment while you were playing on the 2013-14 Brooklyn Nets, a team that went 38-44 and featured this intro hyping Joe Johnson (gone), Paul Pierce (gone), Kevin Garnett (gone), Deron Williams (gone), Andrei Kirilenko (gone), Jason Terry (gone), Jason Kidd (waaaay gone), and Brook Lopez (unfortunately still there, somehow). If you’re saying "Never. That would never happen," while you were helping ruin the franchise in Brooklyn and you’ve added basically nothing to your current team in LA, maybe slow your roll.
Paul Pierce, out with an ankle injury, is in the Halloween spirit with this Rick James... https://t.co/EsaMgZvYkd pic.twitter.com/K05LatXpic
