While the Golden State Warriors have been optimistic that Patrick McCaw will return soon, if not for tonight's game at Oracle Arena, the winless New Orleans Pelicans are still dealing with numerous absences that aren't making things any easier for them.

Most notably, injured wing Lance Stephenson has been waived as the team picked up former Phoenix Suns guard Archie Goodwin. Stephenson was waived two days after it was announced that he needs groin surgery, which will keep him out of action indefinitely, according to Josh Katzenstein of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Their injury situation to begin this season continues a run of bad injury luck for the last two seasons, which was something that Oleh Kosel of SBN's The Bird Writes wrote about at length at the end of last season.  Facing the Warriors tonight, it's clear that they'll be at a bigger disadvantage than most teams are coming into Oracle.
