WOW. This is why you watch all the games!

At the end of a grueling road trip, the Warriors and Pelicans delivered one of the most entertaining games of the year. The Pelicans were brilliant but not strong enough to overcome a powerful showing from the Warriors triumvirate (“quad”umvirate?) of stars. After a bumpy start, the Warriors delivered their best efforts right when they were needed the most.

The Warriors were down six at the end of the first quarter, seven at the end of the second, but turned it on for a typical 3rd quarter with a brutal 37-29 shellacking to make it 95-94 going into the fourth quarter. Yet the real coup d'etat came in the fourth, where the Warriors squeezed the life out of New Orleans by holding them to 15 points (including a complete shut out with no points in the final five minutes).

We will have a full recap for you tomorrow, but for now, let’s go through some fun highlights (and seriously, if you missed this game, you really should try and watch at least the second half).

The offensive display in the third, followed by the defensive savagery of the fourth, was sort of the epitome of what this team’s potential is.

In one of the more shocking story lines of the year, JaVale McGee (9 points, 5 rebounds, in 16 minutes) was not the best player on the floor tonight, despite making his first start in a Warriors uniform. No, instead it was another skinny leaper named Kevin Durant who delivered one of the more memorable performances of his career in a Warriors uniform (27 points, 2 blocks, 3 rebounds, 3 assists).

This team is just so ridiculous. The headline on this next video says it all; we have an abundance of talent and they play exceedingly well together on offense.

Here’s Green’s late steal, but if anyone can find some of his better offensive contributions, please drop them in the comments! He ended up with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists; first triple double of the season.

And here, ladies and gentlemen, the block equivalent of the dagger three.

Up next?

The Warriors have tomorrow off and are headed back home for a three game home stand. Our next game is Thursday, when we host the Knicks. But looking beyond that, it’s an exciting time here in Warriors land: the Cavs are coming over for Christmas we are going to their house (I guess we rotate who hosts the xmas party each year), and GSoM night is only a few weeks away.

Big shout out to BornInDaEB for finding this gem. You ready for Duby’s hot take? The low five is way cooler than the high five. There. I said it. Steph agrees:
