NBA Playoffs 2016: Steve Kerr says Stephen Curry will not play in Game 3

In an interview with Dan Patrick, Steve Kerr dropped the bombshell.

Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

Appearing on The Dan Patrick show, Steve Kerr revealed that Stephen Curry WILL NOT PLAY in Game 3 vs. the Portland Trail Blazers. Saying, "If he's ready to play he'll play. That's based on what the trainers tell me, and what we see with our own eyes in practice. And he hasn't practiced with us yet. Game 3, tomorrow, he's not going to play." Obviously this goes counter to what Curry was hoping for when he self-proclaimed himself potentially ready for Game 3 action in an interview with ESPN.

Kerr continued, saying, "He's getting better everyday. But until he's out on the floor with our team, and scrimmaging -- and we're seeing him move and the trainers say it's a go -- we'll just keep doing what we are doing. No way tomorrow. I would say, maybe a slight chance on Monday (Game 4) if he gets great work in the next few days."

What do you think, Warriors fans? Is Kerr throwing smoke screens? Is Curry's injury taking longer to heal than we'd hoped for? Are we being completely unreasonable? Is Kerr holding him out hoping that the Warriors can handle business minus the league MVP?

So many questions. So few pleasing answers.
