Check out this intriguing team which will compete for the SL crown in Vegas next week!

Summer League is a fun, exploratory, whirlwind event. Hundreds of players from all over the world convene in Vegas either trying to find a niche in The Association, or trying to prove that they were worth their high draft pick. The NBA’s assorted media members descend upon the city as well. It functions as a window into the future, as well as a place for every single person involved/invested in the league to get together and talk shop for a week. Deals are cut in back rooms, drinks are consumed after hours. Gambles pay off, literally and figuratively.

So, that being said, I’m delighted to report that the Warriors just released their roster for 2016!

Dig.

Quick thoughts:

1.) KUZMIC!!!!! He’s back! One of my greatest joys last year was interviewing Kuz right off court. After the interview, we shook hands and his hand literally enveloped mine. I’ve never felt so small in my entire life.

2.) Landry Fields will make an appearance. Once considered a rising star of the NBA (hence the Raptors’ contract when they tried to block the Knicks from signing Steve Nash and it hilariously backfired), Landry hasn’t been relevant in some time. Could we see him impress at SL and potentially earn a spot on some NBA team? Maybe not the Warriors, but someone else with space? Or, heck, maybe the Warriors.

3.) Xavier Henry. Once the top high school prospect in all the land, the former Kansas star never really found himself in the NBA. However, he has been playing for the Santa Cruz Warriors, and is eyeing jumping back into the league in the near future. Read this great Ridiculous Upside feature from our buddy Keith Schlosser about his comeback bid.

4.) I mean, who isn’t excited to see Patrick McCaw go off on his (former) home court? The UNLV product will be looking to impress as he enters into his first professional basketballing environment. Dude can ball. I can’t wait to see him in action after binge watching a bunch of highlight videos ever since the Warriors bought into the second round to draft him.

5.) Excited to meet Damian Jones, although he will not play as he recovers from pectoral surgery.

Who are y’all most excited to watch as the Warriors take the court in Vegas? Let me know in the comments!
