Ethan Strauss reports state that Thompson is away from the team due to a family issue.
No Klay Thompson tonight due to a family issue, team says— Ethan Strauss (@SherwoodStrauss) January 18, 2017
However less than 10 minutes later Strauss then reported that Klay contacted Warriors’ GM Bob Myers and told him that there is a chance he will be back in time for the game tonight.
Klay just called Bob Myers, says he might make it back to the game, according to the team— Ethan Strauss (@SherwoodStrauss) January 18, 2017
OKC will be without starting center Steven Adams, who is being held out due to the league’s concussion protocol.
The Oklahoma City Thunder officially list Steven Adams as out (concussion) for tomorrow's meeting vs. Golden State.— Welcome To Loud City (@WTLC) January 17, 2017
Betters continue to put their money on Golden State, as the Warriors opened as 12.5 point favorites and have risen to the current line of 13.5. Golden State defeated the Miami Heat 107-95 on January 10th in their only game played this season without Klay Thompson.
Golden State is just 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games overall while OKC is 5-2 versus the spread in their last seven games. If the Warriors are indeed without Thompson tonight, Golden State will need other wings to step up and carry the burden of trying to contain Russell Westbrook.
The total has gone under in 14 of the last 20 games for the Warriors including four of the last five versus Oklahoma City. Tonight’s line currently sits at 230.5 total points.
