Poll: What is the best Warriors jersey ever?

We take a look at the best and worst of the Golden State Warriors’ jerseys.

Today, the SB Nation-NBA network is taking a look back at jerseys across the league to determine the best and worst for various franchises.

The Warriors’ worst jersey of all time is pretty obvious: whatever that yellow, striped shorts, sleeved clown suit was is the worst of all time by a longshot.

I still don’t see any rationale for designing a jersey like that.

But what about the best jersey?

Personally, I’ve always been partial to the simplicity of the jerseys from the late-80’s and early-90’s, but that’s mostly nostalgia.

Resident jersey critic Ivan Bettger had better ideas that he shared with the SB Nation staff, who graciously produced a (silent) video to showcase the old school looks. You can see Ivan’s list of choices in the poll below as well.

I realize this is highly unorthodox but, much like adidas said before going forward with sleeved jerseys: The hell with everything — let’s get crazy and stupid.

First of all, I have to acknowledge a whoopsiedaisy by the stellar and generous SB Nation video staff: as you might have noticed, that first uniform shown, captioned as “The City” (and my choice for best of all time), was not in fact The City-era uniform. You already know what it looks like, so I won’t bother posting an image here — and we’ll talk about it more soon anyway.

Second: while I don’t anticipate a lot of you disagreeing with my first four picks, at least in principle and in some other order, I recognize that my choice of the 2017 Christmas jersey is probably contentious. I was as surprised by my ranking of it as well. Again, more to come on that, but feel free to roast or praise me in the comments for now.

Third: in making this ranking, I was considering both home and away designs as a packaged deal. When you consider them separately, I think the math can come out a bit differently.

All that said: in the coming days, myself and Sleepy Freud will present to you the ultimate Warriors uniform ranking!! We’ll be looking at all of ‘em — every last uniform design I could find (and it’s possible I missed one) — and getting super freaking nerdy about their general aesthetic qualities. I know — you can’t wait. I understand.

Ok: back to Nate.
