The San Antonio Spurs start two traditional bigs and are dead last in three point attempts - a drastic contrast in style compared to the high-powered Golden State Warriors offense. And yet, both of these franchises continue to be tremendously successful.
The Spurs have dropped three straight, the Warriors have turnover and defensive problems - this should be fun (and occasionally ugly)!

Still no Kawhi Leonard or Tony Parker for the Spurs, but that hasn’t slowed them down too much behind standout early season performances from Lamarcus Aldridge and Danny Green. These two teams opened last season in a meeting that saw the Warriors crushed by about 30 points. Hopefully the first meeting this time around won’t be as painful for the Dubs. n. The Warr
The Warriors are fresh off a scathing beat down of the Los Angeles Clippers and hopefully that momentum carries over into tonight. Traditionally, Draymond Green has done pretty well against Lamarcu Aldridge, the Spurs leading scorer early in this season.
PROJECTED STARTERS
GSW: Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and Zaza Pachulia
SAS: DeJounte Murray, Danny Green, Kyle Anderson, LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol
INJURY & ROSTER NOTES
GSW: Damian Jones is on G League assignment. Team Notes
SAS: Kawhi Leonard (right quadriceps tendinopathy) and Tony Parker (left quadriceps tendon surgery) are out. Team Notes
This will be the first of three regular season matchups between the two teams, but given the Spurs injury situation it isn’t going to provide much of a barometer moving forward.
Still, this will indeed be a good test for the Warriors. As usual, the Spurs boast a stoat defense powered by a fundamentally solid team that is well-versed in switching and covering. It’s going to be a challenge for the Warriors to keep their turnovers down against these Spurs - even without dynamic stalwart defender Kawhi Leonard.
