It only took a few seconds for this game to look like a typical Golden State Warriors blowout. The Dubs took it to the Denver Nuggets early, scoring the games first 8 points, en route to an early 13-point lead.
Unfortunately, the second quarter existed, and Denver’s reserves were up to the challenge. The Nuggets started the quarter on a 15-0 run, as the Warriors simply could not find the basket.
Probably not a great thing when KD sits the first 5 minutes of a quarter, but is still first Warrior to score. Corner 3 breaks 15-0 run.— Anthony Slater (@anthonyVslater) November 5, 2017
The Nuggets’ run was full of highlights, namely from Kenneth Faried, who provided athleticism that the Warriors weren’t prepared to handle. Eventually Golden State found their bearings, and retook the lead at halftime, capping it all with a momentum-boosting Klay Thompson three.

Once the second half started, only one thing mattered. A Zaza Pachulia one-man fast break happened, and it was glorious.
This led Fitz to call Zaza the “Galloping Ghost” (which is not so good), but it sparked a fire in the Warriors (which is good). Golden State erupted for 43 points in the third, while allowing just 21, and the game was over by the start of the fourth.
None of the Warriors starters had to play more than 30 minutes, but they still filled up the stat sheets. Kevin Durant (25 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists) and Draymond Green (15 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists) flirted with triple doubles. Curry was 5-10 from deep for 22 points and 11 assists, and a jaw-dropping +/- of +44.
Every Warrior played decent minutes, and only Jordan Bell failed to score. It was a good night for the Dubs.
