Klay Thompson has been shooting lights out this year, with current season percentages at 50.5% FG%, 47.2% 3P%, .613 eFG%, and .625 TS%. These would all be far away career-highs over a season, which is pretty impressive since he was already one of the best shooters in NBA history.
With Stephen Curry out, Thompson has had to do more ball-handling, both on-ball and catching and finishing in traffic, and he’s had some trouble creating space (notably in the Sacramento Kings loss without Curry or Kevin Durant) and hanging on to the ball, most visibly against the Mavericks, who stripped the ball repeatedly on Klay’s way to four ugly turnovers.
But as Thompson lurched towards a night to forget and the Mavericks closed to within 7 in the middle of the fourth quarter, Thompson got hot and quickly poured in four straight three pointers, putting away the pesky Dallas team.
Here’s a video breakdown of how Klay Thompson got his four three-pointers late in the Dallas game. Co-starring Omri Casspi, Andre Iguodala and David West.
